Bought for an antique cake stand that we bought which was missing pieces to connect into a stand. It fits perfectly and looks lovely now, partner is over the moon!

Product is nice but the screw is too big for the hole in the bottom plate of my cake stand. Top one is fine so will have to go look for a smaller screw to be able to make up.

This is made of some form of alloy that has been moulded in to the shapes required. It does say in the description that it is some form of zinc alloy. It has then been covered with silvered paint on the outside of the metal that you can expect to chip off at some point in the future. The nut for the bottom of the plate stand has already had it stripped off the screw threads.On the plus side, it's pretty cheap if you need a quick replacement, but I'd hardly consider it to be elegant enough for even a mediocre afternoon tea,
