Apple 2018 Mac Mini with 3.2GHz Intel Core i7, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Space Gray (Renewed)

There’s a reason the 2018 i7 is still going for 900 bucks from Apple. I use it for audio recording. Cubase runs flawlessly. my only suggestion to multimedia users. Heat: download Mac fan control. It’s free and it works. It will take away all fears of overheating. It arrived before it was supposed to. Packed professionally. Easy setup. There are some updates involved. Mine is in perfect condition … I can’t believe I didn’t move to Mac from pc earlier. It’s an incredible buy. For those who haven’t tried a Mac: If you’re an iPad user you already know the system. I’m still learning but I’m so pleased with this computer. Quiet, takes up no space, and what space it does take up looks elegant … it’s nice not to have a tower blasting the room in heat and fan noise. Love it!

05/29/24Been a week since my 2018 mini order arrived and so far it’s performed as a new computer, short the two stickers identifying it for picking and where it came from it looks brand new.Temps are pretty good sandwiched between two thunderbolt docks, but I may still put my favorite nt-h1 thermal paste in to help it a little more.First time I’ve spent more than a few hours using a Mac since 2015 and haven’t had a regret yet.Will update if anything changes, but being one of, if not the last mini with upgradable ram, the speed and performance I’m getting having spent $490 makes it a good value for me and my intended uses. If the next OS version doesn’t support it, I don’t care OCLP exists and will solve that easy.

I have to say this is great. I had to get use to my connections but that was a learning curve on my end. I this product is fast and the storage is amazing. Exactly what I needed to be in full production mode for my online business!!! Thank you!

Totally worth the money. i7 Intel processor and 32 GB of memory gives this machine the horsepower I require. It's not Apple Silicon but that is no matter to me. (I have a M1 Pro Max MacBook Pro, also.) The outer case had a few cosmetic marks on it but I believe it is better than most of the units that others have purchased and put their pictures online. Bottom line, this was originally put into service in 2021 and is 100% functional with no issues. It's not perfect visually for one visible mark on the outside case and hence four stars instead of five, but a perfect performer in every other aspect.

Very impressed on how the condition is! I got a free storage upgrade to 1TB! It only has a small scratch on the front but it's been working great and has no issues. Price was good too!

The i7 processor and 32GB of RAM make it a beast for multitasking, video editing, and running demanding apps like Cubase flawlessly. The 512GB SSD is speedy, and the compact Space Gray design looks sleek on my desk. For a refurbished unit, it arrived in near-perfect condition, though I wish sellers tested these more thoroughly.The major downside is overheating. This Mac Mini runs hot, even during moderate tasks, and it feels like the fan either isn’t kicking in properly or is set to a low speed by default. I suspect the refurbished unit wasn’t properly checked for thermal issues, as the fan settings seem off—possibly disabled or stuck at a low RPM. I’ve had to use an external cooling fan to keep temps in check, which shouldn’t be necessary for a $900+ device. A free app like Macs Fan Control (as some users suggest) might help adjust fan speeds, but I haven’t tried it yet. Apple needs to improve the cooling design or ensure refurbished units are rigorously tested for heat management.Overall, it’s a powerful machine with tons of potential, but the overheating and lack of seller testing make it a risky buy. If you’re tech-savvy and willing to tweak fan settings, it could be worth it—otherwise, consider a newer model or a better-tested unit.
