Great Toy, perfect for 3 year old
This remote controlled Excavator was definitely a hit with my 3 year old grandson. The quality is better than I expected. The battery takes patience to insert but overall wasn't bad. The set comes with two rechargeable batteries. Note that the truck does make sounds but there is a button to turn the sound off. My grandson played with this 2 hours non-stop and was fasinated with all the various moves it can make. I am not sure how long it will last but at least he is enjoying it now. Definitely recommend.

Super cool r/c
This is a really cool little r/c. At the time of this review, the product is currently unavailable; I hope this changes eventually. The scale details that were incorporated into this little truck are impressive, all the way down to the driver in his blue jumpsuit and hard hat. The colors are near-perfect reproductions of one of the largest manufacturers of heavy construction equipment, and the r/c features work well. The truck is powered by a 4wd system which works like a skid-steer; to turn left, the right-side tires turn, and to turn right, the left-side tires turn. The truck has a lot of torque.... enough to push a 12" stuffed animal across my travertine tile floor. The remote has two buttons to raise and lower the dump bed, but really all that is happening is you're spinning a motor one way or the other; if you hold down the same button, the bed will raise via a connecting rod, and then lower as that connecting rod completes one full revolution. The system works well, though, and its design will prevent a kid from destroying the dump bed feature. The remote also allows the user to turn the headlights on and off, as well as the sound. The sound is a little bit... cheesy... and doesn't seem to fit the idea of a heavy-duty mine truck.Overall, this thing is cool. I hope the seller is able to bring the product back to the market. This mine truck, coupled with a track hoe and a dozer would make for a super-fun day at the beach with my young daughter :)

pretty cool for the younger kids, wonky steering though
The truck seems pretty tough and the metal lined bed give it an "industrial" look. This is not like other RC cars in that the steering wheel turns and moves at the same time. Other RC cars only move the wheels left or right and do not engage the drive motor. But with a little practice, you can move and turn. The dump buttons up and down really do the same thing as it simply continuously cycles through the motion. You can independently control the sound and lights which is pretty nice when junior is supposed to be sleeping and wants to play with his truck. :-) There is also a demo mode button. This gives it a little bit of an industrial look which is cool. The battery for the truck is a little difficult to insert and the instructions don't help. I found that if you tuck the connector in the void on the left side and then insert the battery with the wire out it goes in much easier. Like many other RC cars, the battery and connector are somewhat fragile especially the tiny clip that holds the connector together. The battery door on the truck simply slides up and off with no screw, but the two AA batteries on the remote have a door with a tiny screw and a clip. A screwdriver is included, but I expect the screw will be gone very quickly. Fortunately, the clip will hold the cover on. I can see this providing hours of fun with the two included batteries.

Well Worth the $$
My son is 3 years old and he's never owned an RC toy. So for Christmas I got him some tractor related stuff, not really knowing how this would be received. We got the box and I thought it would just be kind of cheap. I was wrong. Upon grabbing the xcavator I could tell it was built well. We git it going easily and WOW.. the cab rotates, the arm has full articulations and it tractors over terrain easy.I was surprised at how capable it was and yet my son acclimated to it quickly too. I felt the speed of it was good. Not fast enough to lose control and slam into walls like most rc trucks.. We've used it pick m&m's out of a bowl, Ibuse it to grab his toys and pull them around or even to tip over or his 18"×7" toy garbage truck or pull it back on its wheels.Honestly the parent is going to have just as much fun as the kid.. maybe more. We did a little rc 4x4 truck vs xcavator (fighting) and while I didn't really want to damage either one, I will say it is tough and up to the abuse. Has gotten a couple wins too lol.All in all it was money well spent and can be used in many creative fun ways, indoors or outdoors. I like to grab his stuffed animals or other toys with the arm and pull them away from him. He gets a kick out of it. Battery lasts well too,

An incredible gift!
Superb construction RC truck! I ordered this truck for my son, and he is happy; he likes everything related to construction and enjoys playing with it. It responds excellently to the remote control, has lights and sounds, and It comes with two rechargeable batteries, which have a long battery life. It’s high quality, durable, and powerful enough to load sand, stones, etc., and it still works great! Highly recommend!

Great little Dump Truck
This dump truck is pretty cool, and I bought it for my son for Christmas. It moves fairly easily and the dump bed actually dumps with a control of a button. Quality of the parts seem to be good. Only drawback is the size… smaller than what I wanted but it’s pretty neat and my son likes it. Rechargeable batteries are good and lasts a while.
