EBow Electric Bow for Guitar

Excellent unit, I have had one of these in the past but the new version with the harmonic setting is a useful improvement. Great purchase!

The most fun! Can even work on an acoustic (steel strung) guitar. Use it with a slide for wild results.

Great little gadget, very easy to use. I was able to use it straight away and get some cool sounds immediately. The only reason for not giving 5* is purely down to the overall product finish: The plastic case feels cheap and the connecting cable for the battery is incredibly short and it really is a struggle to fit the battery in the compartment.

The EBow is a hand-held electronic bow for guitar that vibrates a guitar string providing a long sustained effect. I first bought one 20+ years ago and didn't really make much use of it and sold it on. Recently I have developed an interest in ambient and more creative guitar techniques, and having reinvested in one and although I'm still learning I'm on my way to finding its true potential. Where I went wrong before was just expecting to sound great straightway (Wrong!). It takes some time and patience to use an eBow properly (I found some useful hints and tips online, starting at Ebow's own website) but finally with my amp set up correctly with a smidge of overdrive and some lush delay/reverb I'm starting with patience and practice to get the sort of effect I'd been after. The eBow is made of solid plastic and should easily withstand normal use. Connecting and installing the battery was a bit fiddly, but take time and make sure the wires don't get damaged. Switch the eBow off when you're not using it and I reckon battery changes will be few and far between anyway.

Bit of a one trick gimmick but what a trick. If you’re not Robert Fripp and want to get closest to that Heroes sound, without actually layering 3 feedbacking guitars on top of each other, this will do it. To be honest I’m not sure what else I will use it for but it’s such a 70s icon I just had to have one. It will be fun inventing new sounds and solos to use it for.

My grandson was delighted with this gift. He had to demonstrate it forn me.

This is a great piece of kit that every guitar player should have in their kit bag. I don’t play live and only use a home studio, not using a physical guitar amplifier, so getting that high volume amp feedback was near impossible but with the Ebow this is now easily achieved. There is a bit of technique required, especially when using on the upper ‘E’ string but with a little practice this is easily achieved, love it !

I have been an Ebow user (player?) for about 20 years and base my guitar-style around this fantastic little device, getting my guitar to sing like a cello, violin or clarinet. Or making otherworldly sounds with various effects. Also I have tried a couple of alternatives like the Joyo Infinite Sustainer (pretty good) but nothing matches the original Ebow. Then it died. Just wouldn't work, fresh batteries didn't help. Time to replace it. Ordering a new Ebow via Amazon, I spotted some cosmetic changes: a metallic-particle finish and red circle around the logo. This is the upgraded 2024 edition. Getting it into use, it has more 'grip' on the srings, feels faster and more responsive - definitely an improvement. Just hope that it lasts me the next 20 years.

What a fun addition to my musical collection this thing is. I’m always looking for new ways to take advantage of my instruments and this makes it super fun. I’ve used it on bass, a bass vi, electric guitars, acoustics, resonator, and banjo and it always is a great way to get sounds that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to get. As a music producer, I’d definitely recommend this to anyone
