I don't think the random burglar who wants to be in and out as quickly as possible is going to go through my bookcase as, sadly, books don't have a great perceived value to the uninitiated. Be aware that the stated dimension sizes [14 x 26.5 x 5 cm] are not the actual item dimensions - I have no idea what they refer to. The internal dimensions are 17cms x 10cms x 3.5cms - still large enough for money/passports etc but not tall enough for a normally folded sheet of A4 paper - the external height of the 'book' is 19cms by 13cms by 4.3cms. It is a simple construction, and serves my purpose extremely well plus, as stated by the seller: "Recognised by Police, Neighbourhood Watch groups and insurance companies as an excellent deterrent against theft. Sterling products are equal to the best in the market and are backed with guarantees of up to 10 years." To summarise, this is a genuine replica Collins English Dictionary and looks authentic enough on my bookcase and for this reason I am happy to recommend it but would be happier if the seller corrected the misleading size information.

Looks just like an actual book , even pages look realistic ; however, not easy to use. It got small opening at the bottom, cannot put too much in there, definitely nothing chunky and if put a book on it's back it is extremely obvious it is a storage as it got revealing opening at the bottom ( plastic cover )

It's nice but if checked closer it's obvious on the side. Not obvious from far in the library.

Looks good tbh, right size and height. Just need to take the shine of it with a bit of smooth sandpaper to give it some age. Only problem is, I put it on the shelf, all's good. My misses who is known as the most unobservant person alive, caught wind of me moving it and found the stash of cash I was saving away for hols. Now to try a different approach

This is useful to use for putting things in a safe place as in "where did I put it" ? Protection against burglars, sisters or husband? No chance. This item looks good, bottom just slides out and slides back in, no locking device. Handy for the money paid.
