Excellent Mouse Pad
I originally purchased this in Dec 2010 for £4.30 and then in Jan 2019, thats how long it lasted me! 5 years of that was daily use working from home. It will develop a slight indent overtime for sure, if that will bother you I'd recommended ordering couple spares whenever it is on sale. Still using my 2019 purchase, with one spare. Overall highly recommended. Also works well for some casual gaming.

Slight wrist pain, might be computer use ? BUY THIS
In common with some other reviewers I had started getting pain in my right wrist - I already have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand due to an attack by a patient.Sometimes the pain niggles me and I have tried to use my mouse with my left hand but not very successfully.Due to cold weather I have been using my laptop on an Ikea computer table in front of the TV etc in my lounge where the gas fire is.I sit back in my armchair when not typing and use the mouse on the wooden arm of the chair.I am using a Logitech M205 wireless optical mouse - bought 2 of these mice for the family and then another 2 via Amazon at reduced price as I was worried about keeping dropping the one I personally use off the arm of the chair. See my review of these mice. This mouse wrist rest is marvellous for me.The mat/wrist support is twice the width of the wooden arm of the chair and because the fabric is reasonably firm it overhangs the edges of the arm and droops only slightly which means I have twice the room to move the mouse sideways without the mouse dropping off the edge of the chair arm on to the floor.Granted on the wooden surface without a mat the mouse does move a little quicker as there is no friction to slow it down. I could understand a gamer find this mat restricting because of this.Rather than cutting a hole in the mat as one reviewer did, a piece of self adhesive plastic could be stuck to it or a single piece of laminating plastic could be ironed on the top of the mat part. The base of the mat is rubberised and is completely no-slip. Wonderful. I could not ask for more.A light has just switched on in my head - If someone had a small laptop such as my NC130 net book, you could buy one of these mousepads and trim off most but not all of the mat part (to allow for fraying) leaving some of the flat part under the netbook and you would then have a wrist rest between 6 and 7 inches wide. I am going to buy another mouse pad and do just this for my NC130.See my review of the Belkin wrist support that I bought along with this Mousepad.

A very good mat for the price, although smells a bit when new.
Have just received this yesterday. Its a great mouse mat. It grips the desk quite firmly. It's big enough and has a nice shape. I don't understand why some people complain that it's too small, perhaps they need to alter the mouse settings on the computer to make it more responsive to movement (for Windows users, go into Control Panel, then printers and other hardware, then click on Mouse, then click on pointer options). Here you can adjust the sensitivity so that the pointer moves more distance for the mouse movement. If some people are bothered about the rest hurting their wrist, why not just use the rest to put the heel of your hand on, it works like this just fine. The rest itself feels nice and firm. My laser mouse scrolls quite nicely on the material, although I had to turn down the sensitiviy a bit, to make the pointer motion a bit more comfortable to handle. The only downside at the moment is that fresh out of the packet it has got a strong sickly rubbery smell to it, which is getting up my nose. I'm hoping that this fades away after a few days. I will let you know.Update: I have had it a few weeks now, and the smell has faded (but not entirely gone), so I would consider it acceptable (three stars) for smell!

Excellent mousemat
It's often forgotten that the mat you use for mousing is probably one of the most important cheap peripherals you can buy, if you spend, like me, several hours a day with your right (or left) hand resting on a hard surface.Pros: I've had several gel wrist-support mousemats over the years, but this is undoubtedly the best.Somebody has clearly sat down & actually thought about how people use mousemats in reality, & designed this thing appropriately. The gel wrist support is about 7 inches wide & contoured so that one's wrist falls naturally into the contoured hollow in the middle yet can still move around left to right without falling off the rest. The gel is not too hard yet not too soft, & infinitely better than the memory foam wrist rest my last mousemat had.The upper area of the mat splays out towards the top of its 7 inch length, to a width of 8 inches, so extravagant left/right movements of the mouse don't result in the mouse falling off, as can be seen from the image. The base surface sticks like glue to one's IKEA desk, also, so it doesn't move about. At all.A supremely well designed & comfortable mat/wrist support. I love it. I've also tried it in gaming scenarios, & the wide top bit definitely helps in some of the more frenetic gaming action. It also looks very nice, & the surface is silky smooth & my new Logitech 510 mouse likes it too.Con: well, the packaging. It's blister-packed in one of those impenetrable hard plastic packs you have to take a chainsaw to, to actually get to the product inside, but I guess I can live with that.
