Brilliant and long lasting.
I bought 4 x rechargeable bayonet bulbs to take back home to South Africa where we have power cuts (load shedding) daily. We only managed to charge 1 bulb for about 20 mins but it worked brilliantly for over 3 hours. We charge the bulbs and place them strategically throughout our home during loadshedding. Makes a world of difference.

Rechargeable light bulbs for power cuts
Bought as emergency lighting in case the predicted power cuts actually happen. The kids love the magic feature of holding a bulb in your hand and it comes on. The hanging hook may well prove useful. Plugged into a mains socket it will come on automatically if a blackout occurs, but only if the circuit is open, so either that light had to be burning before the power cut or you need to switch it on manually at the switch. With normal power it functions like a ordinary bulb but charges while switched on. Effectively an emergency torch which is mains charged.

Very very picky on house circuitry
When it's happy, it works perfectly, does a great job. But getting it to work correctly is hard.Doesn't work on the ground floor of my houseWorks on the upper floor of my house but only if a single room has one. If two rooms each have a light, neither work. By not work I mean only work as a normal bulb, the battery backup doesn't work.

Recommend these Emergency Lights
We bought these lights as emergency back up as we can experience power failure given our rural environment and increased likelyhood of losing the main grid. These fit into ordinary fittings, either ceiling or lamps and will click in immediately the power fails. They also come with a on/off fitting that allows you to remove the bulb and connect to the mobile fitting for moving around the house. They will operate for between 5 and 7 hours.

Not what I would have expected
I was expecting to have a bulb that it could work normally under an electric outage (because it has its own battery), but this bulb does not work like that. You have to remove it from the lamp and only then it will work as an emergency light. I'm really dissapointed to be honest, just imagine to have to remove it with a ladder from the lamp in order to have a bulb, the less I would like to do is to remove it during an outage. It does not turn on automatically over an electric outage (most emergency light would do that), but not only that, you have to remove it from the lamp! This is not clearily indicated anywhere in the description and it is misleading.WASTE OF MONEY.

Exactly has described.
These worked out of the box with the buttons that allow you to use them like a torch. All 4 are now installed on stairs and landings in our guest house. We are in a rural area subject to power cuts.Looking forward to have light in those areas during next power cut. They are not as bright as the 60 watt bulbs they replaced but are adequate in those small areas.

Good lights
The lights work really well , the down side is that you have to have the light on to charge it in a normal fitting , would of like to see a charger so I do not have to leave the lights on 6 hour to fully charge
