Ukulele Chord Dictionary (Alfred Handy Guide) : Manus, Morton: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Invaluable, a perfect aid for beginners. - I've ordered a few books aimed at people learning ukulele and have been left confused and frustrated by all of them. They all start with pages of waffle about how great they are, how simple and helpful...then leap straight into complicated and confusing terminology, often failing to explain small things that leave you frustrated and unable to understand. This is just a very simple little book that gets straight to the important information you need to understand some of that confusing terminology. As well as all the great chord diagrams it also explains in a succinct way, the symbols used in sheet music and how it's written...that has helped me a lot as I've never been taught how to read music and all the guides...including the guides for dummies...have left me ripping my hair out and wanting to throw my ukuleles on a bonfire! This book is quite simply a little gem, if I can understand it (and my brain is obviously not wired up to understand the 'simple' explanations that other people find helpful), I'd say anyone should be able to understand it and find it useful. As it's so cheap I may buy multiple copies so I can keep one in each of my gig bags so I'm never without it wherever I go! Review: Worth having! - Easy to follow and very useful.

Great little chord dictionary
This ukulele chord dictionary is well organised to allow you to find chords quickly. Unlike some chord dictionaries it has the chords listed alphabetically, so you start with all different types of A and Am chords, then Ab and Abm chords, then B and Bm chords, etc. It certainly isn't an exhaustive list but it covers all the basic chords and most of the extensions you would need. It also has a handy chart on the back which shows all the notes on the fingerboard. It is advertised as "fits into your uke case or pocket" but it doesn't fit into my soprano uke case, and I think you would be somewhat uncomfortable if you tried to fit this into your pocket. But never mind, it's still a great book to have handy!

Great little chord book.
I'm just starting out with the Banjolele, this book is informative and its small enough to fit in my Banjolele case.

Simple, clear chord book.
A great, clear little chord book. While as a guitar player you can transpose and chords quite easily (a Uke is like a guitar tuned to A with two less strings) I'm sure it'll be easier to just flick through this guide on occasion. I bought it primarily as a teaching aid to use with my kids and other new uke players. The size and shape of the book makes it perfect to slip into a Uke case.

qualité d'impression plutôt moche..... les caractères apparaissent comme agrandis.... moche a utiliser...et le contenu est plutôt basique...

What more can be said except that this one should be in all ukulele gig bags. It contains enough chords to keep even seasoned players happy. And the additional info included on chord construction and moveable chords is a bonus.

This handy guide fits snugly in my soprano Uke's gig bag. I find this book so easy to follow, since the book contains all the chords related to any key. (For eg., if we go to the page for the key C, we could find the chords C, C min, C aug, C dim, some variations of C, etc) The last page shows common chords used in every key, which I often use for transposing songs. This is the most used page for me in the book. Altogether, I would say that this is one essential purchase that I've made in my uke journey. Every beginner should own a chord dictionary and this is one of the best.

Whether you're a complete newbie or just want to have a handy guide for optional (more advanced) chord structures, this handy little guide is a good one to have around. We bought two.
