Yale RFID Blocking Box - Blocks All Signals - Keep Keys Safe - Capacity For Up To 7 Keys - Prevents Attempts To Unlock Cars

We recently bought a new car and as we'd seen stories of criminals remotely accessing vehicles due to keyless entry and start systems we wanted to protect the keys when not in use. A friend recommended this box to us. It looks smart - almost leathery or carbon fibre-like in its appearance, but is actually more of a nulon-like material, or possibly just fancy paper, it's hard to tell. The box has an embossed Yale logo, and a metal catch to keep it closed. The interior is lined with a silver material, and has plenty of room inside for our two keyrings each of which has the car fob and lots of other keys attached, but could also store our mobile phones too. I saw some reports of boxes breaking or being split, but ours is fine and seems sturdy and durable enough - no signs of any damage, but as with everything you don't want to rough it around or be clumsy. We're very happy with this, and it's the sort of thing you could have on a table or keep in a cupboard if you don't want it to be on display.

Works perfect as long as you don't touch the box while the key is in it. With my car my mirrors open if the key is detected nearby. As you can see in the video when I try to pry open the box while the lock is on it can let a signal out (my mirrors open). Other than that it works perfect. I'm showing this because I have kids in the house who might try to mess or play with the box however I doubt they will be playing with it in the middle of the night when someone would come and try to steal my car.

The box looks quite nice and appears to be quite sturdy. However, I would prefer if it actually did what it was intended to. Firstly, I put my car keys which have an AirTag on them in the box and securely closed it. I checked on the app to find the keys which it detected straight away. I then moved further and further away and managed to get into the next room, approx. 8m away before it lost the signal. As soon as I walked back towards it, it picked the signal up again! Concerned about this, I thought I would get into the car and see whether the fob signal was being successfully blocked. Unsurprisingly, as soon as I pressed the start button, the vehicle started. I moved the box over to the passenger seat and tried again, successfully starting the engine. I then put the box on the backseat and tried again, which also successfully started the engine. It was only when I took the box out of the vehicle and closed the door, that it failed to start the engine, but it also does that with the key on its own, so no difference to normal. I am very disappointed with the performance of this product, especially as it is sold by a well known security company. I would not recommend this to anyone that is hoping to protect their vehicle keys from security savvy and determined thieves.

I keep this on my desk in my room, I thought I’d test it by putting my AirPods inside and trying to connect and got absolutely nothing ! It looks great, personally the size is perfect, it can hold my car keys and an abundance of keys on top
