Depends whether or not you want to class shellac as vegetarian. The stuff is certainly not vegan. E904 = Shellac, a natural polymer derived from the secretions of lac beetles, which often contains beetles due to its method of harvesting.

I have bought this jar twice now and since I have obsessive counting habits I actually counted out every bean per jar. The first time I had a total of 3654 including the 10 beans that were a little mangled. The second time I got 3774, including the 6 beans that were a bit mangled. There was a difference of 120 between the two jars so it’s not really reasonable to give an exact number but I’d say in any jar there’s a little more than 3600 beans. I doubt you were expecting a serious answer but now you have one.... enjoy.
