My Blue River

The book follows the life of Addy, a true California girl who is swept from her beloved state to Montana, where she anticipates nothing but a bleak existence, until she meets Jack. But this is not an average love story. Rather, this book includes suspense, action and more. The story flows so smoothly, the characters are well developed and the imagery is simply beautiful. While I didn’t want to stop reading, and the pages rushed by, this was a work that I wished would not end, and when it did, I was left wanting more. Thank goodness there’s a sequel coming!

I could not put this book down!!! I’m embarrassed to say that I finally got back to reading this book as I bought it so long ago, my excuse: puppies...! Seriously, I’ve never had a book bring me to tears, happy tears that is, as this one! So many emotions of forgotten memories of places, sounds, and yes smells, that were so long ago, in my much younger days growing up in Montana! Including many memories of when my husband and I were dating in high school! This is the “Montana way of living” at it’s finest! A MUST read whether or not you’re from Montana or somewhere else!

As many others have said, it was hard to put down! Descriptions were spot on and easy to picture in my mind. I felt the "teen angst" throughout the story along with the relief of finally allowing yourself to be who you are. Gave My Blue River to my daughter when she left for college. Hope she reads it and learns some important life lessons.

I purchased this book because I use to live by the authors parent's. So obviously I was interested in what kind of story one if their daughters would write. I have to tell you, I opened the book and started reading and I couldn't put it down. This is an amazing story about family, young love, addiction and rural life. The issues addressed are hard issues but they are addressed in a manner true to our Montana Lifestyle. Thank you Leslie Trammell for writing a book that I can read and love as a Grandmother and share it with my Grand daughters knowing that what they read is pure! I can't wait for the sequel.

I hadn't read a good book in quite some time, the kind you just can't put down. BUT once I started reading I couldn't stop. I smiled, laughed, had tears running out of my eyes and identified with the characters on several different levels... the whole time a vivid picture in my mind..A wonderful story set in my beautiful Home state. I can't wait for the Sequel.
