VIXX - [HADES] 6th Single Album CD+68p Photo Book+1p Photo Card K-POP Sealed

Hades is the second part of VIXX's Conception Ker trilogy, and like the previous part, Zelos, it comes presented as another single album. With this release, you get the photobook, a randomly selected photocard (I got Hongbin!), and of course the disc itself, which contains four new tracks:1) Fantasy - God I love this song! Fantasy would easily be up there in my top ten VIXX songs, and of the three title tracks that fronted this trilogy, Fantasy is by far the strongest. After the fun and fresh Dynamite, Fantasy is a return to the kind of music VIXX are best known for - dark, dramatic and theatrical. But it's more than just 'typical VIXX', and there are so many different things I love about this song. The way it's clearly influenced by classical music and Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata', the ominous build-up to the first chorus, Ken's lower vocal register at the beginning, the incredible drop at the chorus, his and Leo's belting delivery during the chorus, and Ravi's rap where every word is delivered with such a precise rhythm against the music. This is one of VIXX's best title tracks and I doubt I'll ever get tired of it.2) Love Me Do - It would be hard for any B-side to live up to a title track as good as Fantasy, but Love Me Do holds up. It's a very unique song, even for VIXX, one which I'd probably say is a mix of pop with R&B but with very interesting instrumentation and composition. I love the repeated breakdowns before the chorus hits, and both Hongbin and Hyuk get a healthy amount of lines here. It has a seductive edge to it, and especially once you read the lyrics, you see how very sensual it is too.3) Butterfly Effect - Again there seem to be a lot of different musical influences in Butterfly Effect, from a quite jazzy intro, to the mix of acoustics, R&B and ballad later in the song. Of the tracks that are here, this is probably the song where VIXX showcase their vocals best, and it fits perfectly with Fantasy and Love Me Do.4) Fantasy (Instrumental) - I've already talked a bit about the music of Fantasy, and I'm really glad we got to hear the instrumental to appreciate it on its own. It's an epic piece, truly dramatic and bombastic, blending classical music with a more modern style.Given how much I've managed to write about just these few tracks, you might be able to tell that Hades is my personal favourite of the Conception Ker trilogy. The three new tracks on here are some of the best of this, Zelos and Kratos combined. Even things such as the styles shown in the album's photobook are my favourite things to come out of this trilogy. I can't recommend Hades enough!

This album sounds amazing! It came 2 days before expected, and everything was nicely packaged. I got the Ravi photocard for anyone who is curious. :)
