This was so cheap I wondered if it would actually work. It does.
This bike rack is fine and will fit most cars. After the initial fitting it can be taken on and off the car in about 2 minutes. It is attached to the back of the car using 6 straps. 2 to the top, 2 to the side and 2 to the bottom of the rear door on a hatchback. I say this as the instructions are not very good. I found a picture on the Amazon website of the rack attached to the car and then it was obvious what to do.However, it is a cheap product and and so it therefore requires a low level of practical skill to fit it. I would say that if you would be confident in strapping a ladder onto a car roof rack then you would have no problem attaching this bike rack. Otherwise, you should buy a more expensive bike rack with all the expensive clips and ratchet fixings.

Good for the Price
The instructions for this product are next to useless, eg "Adjust the belt and put it in the right place..." No explanation of where the right place might be! or, "So following the installation is to keep the bicycle and its carriers not to fall off when it is crashed...."There is a packet of plastic buckles, nuts and bolts included with absolutely no explanation of how they should be attached to the frame. Instruction 5 (first picture) gives a hint on how to fix them. Make sure that the teeth on the 'buckles' face inwards to the frame.Once on the car the carrier is sturdy, although it was a challenge to securely fix a girls step through bike onto the frame due to lack of a cross-bar.Overall good value for money as I am only going to be transporting bikes once or twice a year so pleased with the purchase

GREAT PRODUCT
Great Product once you understand the instructions as they are vagueA few of tips :-Mark the circular black brackets (the one's with the teeth) at each end with a permanent marker across the teeth ,so you know exactly what angle to fix these, netx time you put it together as it folds flat in the boot and will take 5 mins to set upBuy some pipe insulation foam (costs £3.00 from screwfix) to wrap around the vertical bars and fix with cable ties (this will prevent scratches to your car)User an old bicycle inner tuber over the straps at the points where they touch your car to preoven rubbingIf you have a saloon like me ,Use the pipe insulation to secure the straps with the clamps on the end inside the boot (my car has holes in the boot ceiling/roof ,so i used the insulation to keep the clamps wedged into the holes (saves time)This product is no more hassle to put together than any other and really folds flat to be left in the boot ,so you can use your boot and no nbeed to store in the garage

Cheep but not cheerful
We were hoping to buy a cheap and cheerful bike rack for an upcoming journey and this one seemed to fit the bill. We were planning to transport 3 bicycles on a full day's journey. About an hour away from our destination the clips used to keep it extended broke and we had to limp our car and the 3 bicycles to our destination. It is disappointing that the weight of the bicycles and the rack's sturdiness depend on brittle plastic parts that shatter relatively easily. We managed to reinforce the rack's structure with high quality duct tape and inventive engineering to get the rack home. I recommend spending a bit extra to get a rack that will last more than a trip and also save you peace of mind.

I wasn't happy with it so out came some old rags to ...
First of all, don't try and read the instructions. I had 5 minutes with them and couldn't even make a start. So I did the man thing and looked at the picture and tried to recreate what I saw. After 10 minutes I had figured it out and a further 10 minutes saw it attached to the back of the car. The first thing I noticed was a lack of foam padding, I wasn't happy with it so out came some old rags to try and protect my car. The second thing I noticed, after attaching my 13kg mountain bike, was that it would never accommodate 3 bikes at all. After putting my bike on there was a lot of movement when it took the weight, and quite a bit of movement with the bike attached. My pedals were catching the boot of the car (Vauxhall Vectra) so I tried using the furthest red straps to gain some clearance but the bike just slid down the arms and back into the car. So more rags came out and I wrapped my pedal to avoid damage. So I rechecked the straps and reluctantly set off for a 2 hour drive. Unfortunately I had no faith in the carrier and constantly watch through my mirrors and pulled up regular to check the straps. It seemed to hold up ok but it's no good using it if you have no faith in it. So the return journey saw me dropping the seats and putting the bike in the back of the car.So for the money it would do a job of sorts but I just had no confidence in it. It would be ok with a couple of kids bikes but wouldn't recommend for adults. But that's why other carriers cost £60+.

Quite average
I bought this to transport one bike, which is does the job for, although I've only made one journey.I had to improvise putting a child's shoe on one of the pedals to make sure it did not scratch my car. The red rubber clasps that you put the bike on come off that the bottom when you tighten them up with the screw at the bottom, so you can't tighten them too much, which is worrying. I had to used a lot of bungee cords to hold the bike firmly, I also took off a wheel. It's obviously a very cheap solution for bike transport compared with many of the overpriced products on the market, which can cost as much as a decent bike. It's OK for what I'm intending to use it for, but I wouldn't feel very comfortable transporting more than one bike on it, three bikes would be positively dangerous in my opinion. There are no CE marks on it or the box, the instructions are useless and very poorly translated, however you can work out how to fix it my looking at the picture on the box and using some common sense.
