Gorilla Gym Gym1 Pull Up Bar Core Unit

This is the best customer service I've ever encountered on-line. The Gorilla Gym pull up bar was delivered quickly and so far it seems to be a great quality product. I'm not the best at DIY, but it was relatively easily to assemble & install this bar by following the on-line videos on the website - and referenced in the full, written instructions that came with the product. Nevertheless, I was a little bit apprehensive about putting my full weight on the product as the door surround creaked when I tested it. I contacted the website and they were super quick and helpful. They discussed with me, checked my photos and offered a phone chat. Very reassuring, so I've been able to start using the bar tonight and it does exactly what I hoped. One thing to be aware of is that this bar hangs lower than many other pull up bars - which may be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on what exercises you want to do.

This is a great product, I've been looking at it for a while, and decided to try it out , since were all spending more time indoors just now . It is amazing with I bought it years ago , I have two children with additional needs and they love it . Iam not very technically minded, but I built it by myself, by reading instructions and watching you tube videos. It's well made if your thinking off it , buy it you wont be disappointed xxxx

Bar position too low ! I’m 174 cm tall . When I tried to use it my knees nearly touching the floor . Door frame has to be min. 2m high otherwise your legs are not straight position . Overpriced....

con esto pudimos hacer ejercicio en casa durante el confinamento. El precio subió claramente. No se adapta muy bien al grosor de los marcos que tenemos en Alicante, pese a poner en la descripción que sí. Hay que poner atención, puesto que puede soltarse, mejor para nosotros, así nos obliga a subir a pulso sin nada de kipping. Si ni se desmonta tiene una forma muy irregular y ocupa bastante espacio. Pero no había otra cosa en aquel momento.

Before I purchased Gorilla gym I had tried 2 other doorway pull up bars. Namely: 1) Yes4All SXP Chin Pull Up Bar - ²CW2KZ 2) Pure Fitness Multi Purpose Workout Bar You can check the 2 reviews here on Amazon. But I will add that I liked the "Yes4All SXP Chin Pull Up Bar" for its sturdy make, which, I believe, is at par with that of Gorilla gym. It also has a bridge connector (holding the 2 J bars) that's made of IRON and not plastic (which, sadly, is what Gorilla gym -- and most other brands are made of). To top that off, you can not beat it's $19.99 price tag + Amazon Prime 2 day free shipping. Unfortunately I had to return it because my door space was a notch too wide for a stable fit. With the bar at a 36" width, I needed at least an extra inch or two. So, in comes the 38" wide Gorilla Gym core unit pull up bar. To be honest, I was a bit reluctant to fork out almost $60 quid for this and an extra $20 bucks for shipping to boot. Felt it was way too pricey compared to other typical brands out there. But I gotta tell you, after a few days of use, I don't regret it one bit. PROS: This, I must say, is the Mercedes Benz of doorway pull up bars. It's that well constructed. But the real clincher were the Vise Grips that provide lateral stability .-- AND takes away the "mental" fear that this doorway equipment is going to give way any second and you'll be flat on your back. There's no other equipment of this make that has this Because I haven't done pull ups since 4th grade, I knew I had to start from the ground up by first of all working on my grip strength. I simply held onto the bar and let myself "hang." No movement -- just hanging there like a bat in a cave. Initially, I couldn't hold on for more than 30 seconds; then, gradually I worked up to a minute and more as my intrinsic muscles began to adapt to the new load. After that I moved to the next step of ... you guessed it, pull ups. Again, a slow incremental process. But, in it all, I noticed there was never a "give" or a wobble (with my full weight on it, or when in motion) -- which is something you'll notice in the other pull up bars due to either a reduction in the quality of the metal used -- or (main reason) simply because they lacked the vice grips.. CONS: The two J-pull up bars are held together by a plastic bridge. Not a deal breaker, but the company can offer a 2.0 model that comes with a bridge made of steel/iron (look to the price doubling due to that. LOL.) as an alternative option for those interested. Besides, it adds to its durability and all round construct. Though not directly connected to the review of this core unit, I did buy the extender accessory (see pictures below) to provide a wider pull up space. I'm saying this because I noticed that the foam grip pads on them are not as good a quality as that on the core unit. These thinner foams are not as "fixed" as those on the core unit such that during pull ups they "roll" with my wrist/hand movement. Was debating between adding an adhesive -- or buying a replacement all together. I chose the latter. Also, the cushion pads that protect your door from the "rub" of the vise grips appear to not be "super glued" in place, as I can see one of them has slid out of alignment. The final problem I had was with the delivery. It takes about a week (depending on where you live) to be delivered. And this is a bit surprising when you factor in that it's shipped by FedEx. That's why it kinda disagrees with me that you pay that much via courier yet it takes more than 5 days to reach your doorstep. An item like this should be on Amazon Prime if you ask me. But all this doesn't stop me from giving this equipment a solid 5 star recommendation. With the way my upper body muscles are starting to tone and firm up .... I don't think I would've given it anything less. .

Amazing! I bought this because most other removable pull-up bars are too wide for the doorways I use (too small of a gap between the door and the wall). It was still a tight squeeze, but much more compact than other's I've used. The securing brackets are very sturdy and have lots of room for adjustment. Feels super sturdy - enough that I can invert! (a huge bonus for me since I train in aerials - practicing inverts on hoops/trapeze/silks/etc are crucial + are an excellent core work-out). I just wish that the attachments were more affordable + readily available - fingers crossed that'll change.

Ver convenient to use

-its easy to build and easy to install. -its well build, and it doesn't move when i'm using it. the only thing that kinda sucks is that you will have to buy the pull up extender to do wider pull-ups and chin-ups. But its still a good buy and its definitely the best door frame pull-up bar out there. It also got to my house really quick, like 3 or 4 days. i live in NJ.
