Kryptonite Strong Hold Above Ground Lock

Having just had a bike stolen from my garage I decided I really needed to look into some proper security....the dog never even woke up! Ordered the Strong Hold Above Ground lock which arrived very quickly so got down to installing it straight away. Read the instructions but to be honest it was very easy to fit as I have an SDS drill which made like work of making the holes, just needed to get final size correct using the large dill bit supplied with the item. All fitted and road bike now locked to the floor mount which looks and feels 100% solid and secure. Got a door defender on its way as well so feel very secure with door protection and bikes chained to the floor. Excellent product and very easy fitting, only took about 30 mins or so.

Easy to install using the drill bits supplied although if drilling a concrete floor you may benefit from an SDS drill on hammer setting. Once bolted in position you just hammer home the ball bearings so that know one can use an alllen key to unbolt. Highly recommended piece of security.

Ordered this to secure the families collection of bikes ( along with a kryptonite bike lock) . Very useful that it came with the necessary drill bits as I had to drill three bolt holes into the wall ( this thing can be fixed to the floor or the walls) . It took me around 15 minutes to fix it in place - again a nice touch that all the bits necessary to secure bolt caps etc were supplied. And that was it. It's not going anywhere and neather are the bikes. If someone tries to take them, they're going to have to take the wall as well...

A little awkward to get good placement, but hopefully twice as difficult to remove. With smooth edges and a fold down shackle its less of a trip hazard and won't damage tires if you ride over it. Loved the fact that it comes with correctly sized drill bits.

The product itself is brilliant. Good quality components used. However make sure you have quality drill bits to hand, as unless your drilling into pure concrete, the supplied bits are not good enough.

In my job I've installed lots of raw bolts but the ones for this anchor seemed very feeble .Indeed one of them actually buckled on installing.Once the anchor was fitted I was able to use my fahgettaboutit mini with a 16mm chain but only the lock itself fits through the anchor.My kryptonite 14mm chain will fit through it but only just.Overall I'm very happy and my ebike is very secure.

Really solid lock for securing bikes using chains/locks too and is sold gold secure which attracted me after I had a bike stolen. Floor anchors are the way to go and police recommend this style of protection. Generally 10% of a bike cost should be spent on decent locks/security. Use this with a Kryptonite Sold Secure gold chain for really strong security. This is provided with the bolts and even the drill bits to drill into the floor. Once bolted in, I would say almost impossible to remove for adhoc thieves. Highly recommended

This anchor is a great investment for securing you’re motorbike, the build quality is great and it’s super easy to install (they even give you drill bits you need for the job) you can bolt it to the ground or (as what I’ve done) bolt it to the wall.

Das Kryptonite Stronghold eignet sich sehr gut für Roller, Motorräder oder Fahrräder. Seine robuste Konstruktion und einfache Installation machen es zu einem verlässlichen Bodenanker. Die Vielseitigkeit ermöglicht eine flexible Anbringung an verschiedenen Orten. (Im Boden, an einer dicken Betonwand, etc) Ich finde es super, dass der Anker sogar mit den notwendigen Bohrköpfen kommt (1x kleinerer Primer-Bohrkopf zum Vorbohren, 1x dicker 16mm Bohrkopf für die Metalldübel). Die mitgelieferten Sechskantschlüssel sind zu kurz. Der Anker ist damit nicht montierbar, man bekommt die Schrauben nicht zugezogen. Idealerweise hat man ein Rohr um eine Hebelwirkung zu erzielen, oder eine Impact Drill mit einem guten Hex Bit.

Positives: Very solid product. Quality build. This will not be the weakest link in my security. I used an old electric drill with hammer action and the bits help up perfectly. My concrete was poured 3 years ago with no visible cracks. Negatives: Takes some elbow to install. SUGGESTIONS: 1 Consider your location carefully 2 Allow plenty of time for install. It took me an hour to install. I could do it a second time in probably 20 minutes. 3 Following the directions exacty as indicated ... with possibly one exception .... You will drill three holes total into the concrete. The directions state to use the big bit for the first hole and then use the smaller bit first for a pilot hole and for accruacy before using the larger bit for the other two holes. I would suggest using the smaller bit and drilling a pilot hole for your first hole too. This will help drill the hole perpendicular to the floor and will reduce spalding or busting out some of the concrete if you try to drill the first hole with the larger bit only. 4 Do not attempt to drill all three pilot holes at once. Follow the directions. Drill one hole and fit one anchor. Then do the second and then the third. Do them one at a time. This will asure accurate placement of the achors. 5 Drill each hole perpendicular to the floor taking the time to check as you go. This will prevent trying to round out the hole if you get started wrong. A good straight hole will help the sleeve to fit in nice and tight for added security. 6 Use a shop vac as you drill to remove the dust. Drill a little, stop, use the vac and then drill some more checking that your drilling perpendicular to the floor as you go. The three achors will then fit nicely in your holes. This is not rocket surgery as my friend says. You are drilling three holes and installing three anchors. My installation went very well. Allow yourself some time, follow the directions and your install will go very well.

ハンマードリルがないと取り付けられませんがその分かなり期待できます。簡単には引き抜けないでしょう。穴を空ける際は十分に注意して位置を決めないと失敗するかもしれません。取り付ける前に穴の位置を見直して、ダメなら穴を広げて余った部分にセメントをいれるなどするといいと思います。たとえ全部のボルトが入ってなくても抜くのは困難だと思います。
