Makita 122591-2 Dust Bag Assembly

This fit my Makita belt sander perfectly. Exact factory replacement part.

Great product

The end is rubber and you jam it in the port of the sander which seems top small for it. Maybe it's just my lack of strength being an older woman, but I felt there was a lot of dust anywayThat said, my husband died of ipf. He was only 64. We think the inhalation of sawdust played a part in its development.Please wear a good mask to protect you from sawdust. It's been established as carcinogenic, I believe.

Fits the SP6000J saw dust port and does not get in the way. Makita and Amazon are unhelpful about which bag to get, so I had to turn to reviews. Two say it fits, one says it fits poorly. The supposed reason is because it fits inside the port. I suppose it creates more turbulence, making the Navier-Stokes equation more difficult to solve, but I'm here to tell you it works well with the saw. Also, the bag does not have a zipper but does have a removable clip to empty the bag. This strikes me as being less prone to getting jammed up with sawdust. I recommend this bag, part # 1225629, for the SP6000J plunge saw. I can't speak for other tools.

I found a sander at an estate sale but, it did not include the bag. Definitely worth while ordering the dust bag to prevent leaving a big mess.

I returned the product because the inlet was too small for my mitersaw, it looked well made. Shipping to me was on the estimated day of delivery. Return was easy through Kohl’s.

This bag partly fits the Makita SP6000J 6-1/2-Inch Plunge Circular Saw but not well at all. Makita tools are great products well engineered and thought out. But this bag is not to the standards I expect from Makita. This bag part number was given to me by the Makita USA help desk as the one that fits the 6000J saw. The problem with the bag is it fits inside the exhaust port of the saw which builds in a restriction for efficient dust ejection. I found an old Dewalt biscuit joiner bag that attaches to the outside of the saw exhaust port so there is no restriction. It works well but has a smaller capacity so requires emptying after a pass through 3/4 in x 8 ft MDF. I can live with that until I find a larger capacity bag that fits the outside of the 6000J saw exhaust port, not the inside. (Makita, please make a bag designed for the 6000J).I am really happy with the 6000J saw. It is fantastic.
