Great gift idea
I purchase a calendar for my coworker every year and the Nat Geo calendar was my choice for last year. My coworker absolutely loves this calendar. She is constantly sharing pages with me and wishing she could visit some of the destinations.

Don't buy this calendar
I purchased this calendar based on the subject and that it was by National Geographic. How could I go wrong? Well the pictures are dark and hard to discern. Some of the locations I have been to and have beautiful photographs of them. But the ones in this calendar are really bad. Also, the text describing the pictures is in a very small print - seems like 4 pt text. I have to get magnafying glasses to read the description. Such a disappointmennt. Save yourself the same feeling!

Disappointing, poor quality pictures
Pictures are similar quality as if I had printed them myself using budget paper and my budget home printer. The photo choices aren't ideal for the type of paper/ink/printing used. While the photos with high contrasting colors aren't too bad, there are many photos full of similar shades. I'm sure they looked spectacular in person, but sometimes it's hard to discern what the photo is even of.Pictures are small compared to the overall size. There is a lot of white space at the top and sides. The description is very small font with not much information. The date is pretty big at the bottom, so it's easy to see from anywhere on my desk.It has a black plastic stand that is sturdy.

Awesome gift equals…
…awesome sister??? I hope so! My sister is actually really happy about this calendar and she and her wife both love it, so I am happy, too! NatGeo makes nice stuff.

A Roadtrip to Nowhere
I was so anxious to get some ideas for road travel but the images were printed on cheap paper causing them to appear dark and completely unclear. Too bad because the National Geographic photos themselves would be fine. Shame on the publisher who had the nerve to print these images on the cheapest paper and making the images so small with a microscopic font size for the photo descriptions. I paid $16.95 for this item and at half price as listed now on Amazon it is still a waste of money. I donate to National Geographic every month so they are going to hear from me regarding this blunder. Don't buy.
