Nexus 7 - Working Perfectly
I bought this adapter because occasionally I need to connect my Nexus 7 using Ethernet rather than WiFI.Note that to use it with the Nexus 7 you will need a USB OTG cable - these are available for £2 or £3 on Amazon.Connecting the Nexus 7 using the adapter is very simple - switch on "Airplane Mode" (I don't know if that's necessary, but it's a quick and easy way of switching off the WiFi). Plug the USB OTG cable into the Nexus, plus the adapter into the cable, switch on the Nexus then plug an Ethernet cable into the adapter. The lights come on and after a few seconds of activity (presumably while the DHCP server allocates an IP address) you're up and running. It really couldn't be much simpler and ping times and connection speed are all as expected.Overall I am extremely pleased with both the ease of use of the adapter and also it's apparent durability. It appears to be well made but time will tell on that - I'll update this review should I encounter any problems with the thingNote: My Nexus 7 is an un-rooted "stock" device.

It just works!
I have to admit being a bit sceptical about whether this would work - but I was very pleasantly surprised.First off, I ordered the item quite late in the day and was surprised to see next day delivery was still offered. I paid extra for this and was expecting to seek a refund when the item didn't arrive the next day! It did - very impressive - and I was able to take it on a trip with me.I had bought a separate connector cable to give me a full size USB port for my Motorola Xoom tablet and needed a USB to ethernet adapter. I travel a lot and often end up in hotels with rubbish wifi but fairly stable wired internet. I also wanted something to speed up downloads when I'm at home. I wasn't convinced that any of this was going to work to be honest, but when I plugged it all in and it immediately found the internet without any intervention from me I was very pleased. I double checked it was actually connecting over ethernet by switching off wifi on the Xoom. All good.I still have to work out why WD2go doesn't see my 3TB MyBook over ethernet but is fine over wifi, but I think that's a WD2go issue, not anything to do with this connector. So, long and short, wired is a lot faster than wifi and I'm able to move stuff on and off the Xoom, and browse, get email etc a lot quicker than before. Happy customer.

PLUGABLE TECHNOLOGIES ETHERNET ADAPTER
I recently bought a macbook air without considering whether it had an ethernet port, but it is so slimline that on investigation I found that I was without one.Not a problem with wi fi available most the time - BUT then the wi fi went down and I was stranded. So thank heavens for companies like Plugable Technologies!I checked out a few connectors on line, and bought another model first because it was cheaper, but then found that it needed setting up with a DVD, which all got overly complicated, and neither me nor my partner could get it to work. I returned it to Amazon and got a full refund. Money that I then spent on buying the Plugable USB. I admit I was a tad anxious after that because I had read that many connectors had issues with drivers and compatibility etc. So when Plugable Technologies connector arrived (really speedily, only 2 days to get to me) I took it out of the packet, plugged it into the USB and KABANG it worked, seamlessly and almost instantly. My heart was in my mouth for a moment, as it configured itself, but then it sprung into action. Phew and horrah were my reactions. Its nice and neat and I like the cable version as it allows the bulky bit to be round the back of the macbook out of my way. The first one I bought was a plug in block that stuck out the side, demanding room and more easy to damage. The flexible cable eases both those issues.Job done.

Works with IPad via Camera Connection Kit
I’ve used these for years on Raspberry Pi and PC they work well with little effort. I use this to connect to a mixing desk after a rather unpleasant Wifi issue during an event where I lost communication to the mixer; NOTE for a wired connection you need the Apple Camera kit to supply power (from the power adapter) and provide the USB port. A new item appears in the settings next to WiFi on the Ipad, labelled as Ethernet, just seup from there and all is good. Works well and much faster than wifi for the mixer (Xair).

Brilliant tool.
Brilliant cable.I got so fed up dealing with a wireless connection, throughput issues, lag and at times constant buffering. I've always wanted to be able to use Ethernet on my tablet but, despite being very interested in tech and having knowledge on it, I never properly looked into it.I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10" & discovered this adaptor simply by chance online. Absolutely love it!Sounds obvious but plug an Ethernet cable into the socket, connect the USB end into an USB>Micro USB adaptor (I purchased this separately) then connect it to the device and within a few seconds a confirmation pops up saying "Ethernet connected".The only thing to keep in mind is your battery will drain because you're using the port for connection.Speed test before connection then after connection was well noticed (obviously depends on your current connection/bandwidth).In summary I cannot fault this product. Very well built, very easy to connect and there's a solid connection when plugging in the Ethernet.

... Lenovo machine and office LAN, twitchy connection after 3 months
I have used this for 8 months with my Lenovo. After about 3 months the connection became very intermittent and I had to keep on wiggling the wire so it connected in the right way. At 8 months it has now completely broken and is not recognised by my machine.
