Author, Josef Moser definitely took his time preparing and researching title subject. Trough basic history for Linux, explaining in easy to understand language, to versions of many Linux OS, concentrated his attention producing excellent guide of one of most popular Linux versions. Clear menu helps quickly find interesting us subject. Fever illustrations but more knowledgeable approach. Introduction to reader to explain deeper functions of Unbutu presenting very knowledgeable approach. This guide is for people with basic pervious experience with various computer Operating Systems but design to explore and explain concept behind Unbutu 22.04 LTS. I definitely recommend this book. I was nicely surprised to discover "a special key" author is using to help understand subject taking into consideration all aspects of proposed by Unbutu Team package options, for average but curious user. Author introducing very first commands and functionality of Terminal inside Unbutu. Definitely not wasted money in handy sized guide. Happy with purchase and congratulations to Author for chosen introduction of Linux Unbutu LTS for very average information seeking audience.

This guide was distinctly not helpful. It is sketchy where it needs to be more detailed, detailed where it should be sketchy. It appears designed for the user who is installing Ubuntu themselves rather than the person who buys a new computer with the OS already installed so it is particularly non-helpful in the details of tweaking, such as changing permissions, transferring files, et cetera. There is a lot of change in the last few Ubuntu releases and not covered in this slim volume so I ended up buying the bigger book: "Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Desktop" by Richard Petersen. The latter gives more detail where detail is needed. In the end I find I'm spending significant time on online Ubuntu forums and tutorials, so expect that as well. This book was relegated to my stack of old and non relevant but historically interesting books going back to the early Apple II days.
