I buy one of these every year
I buy one of Alison's advent calendars every year, beautiful designs with a traditional Christmas theme.

so I don't know what the illustrations are like when you open the windows
This is a delightful Advent calendar, and I was impressed with the very prompt delivery. I agree that it would have been improved by having either some way to hang it up or some sort of open-out card stand at the back. I've bought it as a gift for someone else, so I don't know what the illustrations are like when you open the windows.

Bought these for my son and daughter as was fed up with the ridiculous chocolate filled ones (how does the Avengers printed on a piece of cardboard signify christmas?). These calendars are excellent quality with detail filled scenes and a real christmas feel and the best thing is that the glitter on them does not fall of (worth the 5 stars alone!). would definitely buy again.

Lovely but no glitter.
Really lovely advent calendar with lovely picture. However there was no glitter on the calendar as suggested in the description. It also arrived slightly bent, however that is not a big issue.

No chocolate, just lovely nostalgia.
I buy the kids chocolate advent calendars but we like a traditional one so no chocolate, just pictures. This is a really nice one. The pictures are the kind that I used to get as a kid. So far we’ve had a stocking, mistletoe, a cracker and a Shepherd. Lovely. It brings back childhood memories of when we used to guess what was behind each door ( something we still do). The main picture itself is charming and this calendar is a really good size. I will definitely be looking out for one from this range next year. I like the nostalgia and the fact that I’m not eating chocolate for breakfast each day.

Perfect product, poor delivery
Perfect for a chocolate-free, traditional advent calendar, both of which are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Delivery was poor - item packaged in cardboard-lined envelope that delivery driver just folded in half, pushed through letter box and called this 'handed to recipient'. Ordered to arrive before 1st December but no time to arrange a replacement when, a result of it being folded in half by the delivery driver, a fair number of doors were already bent open

Lovely calendar
This was bought for my toddler who loved it. A busy scene with lots going on for her to marvel at.

Good quality advent calendar.
Just a good quality calendar. Would recommend. Bought for my 8 year old neice who liked it, but of course has not opened windows yet as its not December, so cannot comment on the pictures inside.

Muy bonito
Tenemos varios calendarios de esta autora en casa y es que no defrauda. Es de cartón grueso, la ilustración es muy bonita y las imágenes que salen en las ventanas también.

I am fortunate to have a curio cabinet that fits against the ...
Alison Gardiner Advent calendars are from England, so the designs are of English scenes, including this one of the Palace. The people and animals are going about their business as Santa Claus and his reindeer soar in the night sky. The pictures behind the windows are appropriate to the Christmas holidays, mostly toys. The biggest drawback is that it is not freestanding: I am fortunate to have a curio cabinet that fits against the wall, and I use the calendar as a background for Hummel figurines. The calendar leans against the wall and is in no danger of tipping over.
