Previous Vitamin C tablets I've used had a sweet taste, these are bitter and distasteful...is this normal?

The taste is normal, kind of sweet sour (acidic). IF you experienced the above, then, possibly : cap was not fully closed - exposure to air -causes oxidation. Other possibility : exposure to sunlight - the purpose of the bottle with amber or brownish color - to reduce sunlight, which could create reaction and degrade, and first symptoms : changes of color and or taste ; What to do : replace them ; and if you buy new one - how and where you keep is important - to ensure, you can consume all in over 1 year (assume 1 pill / day , so there are 500 days to go
