Not quite right!
I am a little disappointed! The shoes received are different to the ones I selected in the listing - with suede and PU leather uppers - rather than the all leather/suede uppers as advertised. That's poor. That said, they are reasonably well made and comfortable, despite a lack of arch support. I have quite wide feet but there is plenty of room for my toes etc. I usually take a mens size 12 but, as usual with sports shoes, I ordered a size larger. With thicker sports socks, that's fine. I use them when playing badminton and as comfy shoes around the house and garden. Time will tell, but thus far, they have stood up to my abuse very well. As such, they seem to be good value for money.

Another "great value for money" review
I can't remember when I bought the current pair. There was an interval of a few years in my squash playing, but I suspect it was over a decade ago. Now? There's a split on the outside of each shoe, about where the lip of the front part of the sole comes to an end, longer on the left (my left foot being slightly the larger, so the shoe is under slightly more stress). The fabric under the heel long ago wore through on both. The fabric at the back of the heel has now worn through in a couple of places on both, such that it's shifting around a bit, prompting me to buy a new pair. After, probably, 7-9 years of regular use. I might have bought a new pair before now, but I thought I'd be packing up playing, so it wouldn't be worth it (I can't fairly be described as young). Now though, I've concluded I'll probably be playing once & twice a week for another decade, so I ought to buy... Well, this will be the same pair as I had before, as far as I can tell. Comfortable? Yes. Effective? Yes. Value for money? Top notch!

The original squash shoe, and still the best. Also good for a range of other sports.
In the 70s, Hi-Tec created a trainer made specifically for playing squash. It was the first such shoe to be designed for the sport and, more that forty years later, it is still being sold. According to their website, Hi-Tec have sold over 17 million of these trainers, and still going strong. Hi-Tec is no longer a name that is synonymous with premium quality. They have the budget end of the market covered, but their marque is considered by many to be less than first-rate. However, when it comes to a good quality squash shoe, you can’t really get better than this simple, tried and tested design. The sole of the shoe is flat. Unlike a running a shoe, there is no arch support, no torsion bars and no anti-pronation devices. This is because, in the game of squash, you may want to quickly change direction. These additions to your typical sports shoe are likely to impede your ability to do so, and can even cause injury to a fast-moving raqueteer. The grip of these shoes is good. The gum rubber sole doesn’t provide too much grip, but gives just enough to stop you skidding around without stopping you from moving quickly from one part of the court to another. I have also used this shoe for fencing which, like squash, features a lot of lunging. Whereas specialist fencing shoes are very expensive, these are not. Because of the metal piste (playing area), a fencer can burn through trainers like anything, making these squash shoes a popular alternative. I wouldn’t wear these shoes out as they make a fairly poor fashion statement, but for playing squash they are great. As noted above and by many other reviewers, they are also excellent for a range of other sports, from badminton to cycling, making them an excellent, inexpensive and comfortable addition to many a sports bag.

Overall good for the price, but bad insole
Pros: The grip is very good Cheap Cons: Fit: Slightly big, especially around the toe area (too much movement in my eyes) - although something I quickly adjust to. Insole: Good for the first few weeks/months (depends on how often you play) but the fabric layer started to come apart from the spongy layer and then 2 holes started to form at the toe area. One at the big toe and one at the 'knuckle'/joint of the big toe. This hole grew and grew until there was no sponge/protection around that area. I've fixed this by buying a completely new insole. The cons may seem to outweigh the pros but honestly, this is a nice shoe and the insole problem may have been just a personal issue. Perhaps it was a one off issue or it is down to the way I play/run which causes a lot of friction or force on the insole. Note: I have had this shoe for just over a year and play on a weekly basis.

used these shoes for over 40 years and they are built as good as the first set I bought, they usually last me 3 to 5 years.

I bought these for playing squash. As far as indoor shoes these are good value. There are a few things I noticed. The shoe size is a bit large. You might want to go down half a size if you want i to fit correctly. The toe is stiff and also a little large. My toes have a lot of space to move around which is not good when trying to make quick stops and pushing off your toe. The width of the shoe is good. I'm usually EE so I was worried about the width, but if I would have gone down half a size it would still fit nicely. The shoe works as intended otherwise. And there have been no problems so far with the quality of the shoe. Overall, value is good. Fit could be better. Does the job.
