This is one of those tools you don’t realize how much you need until you use it. Kreg absolutely nailed it with this set. The build quality is excellent—everything feels solid, well-machined, and designed to last. It doesn’t feel like a gimmick at all; it’s a true precision tool that improves your workflow right away. What really stands out is how easy it makes routing clean, consistent corners. Instead of guessing or trying to freehand, you get repeatable, professional results every time. It saves a ton of time and removes a lot of frustration, especially on projects where detail matters. Setup is straightforward, and once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. It works great across different materials and keeps everything aligned exactly how it should be. If you’re doing any kind of detailed woodworking or want cleaner, more professional finishes, this is absolutely worth it. Kreg quality shows through—reliable, precise, and built for real work.

I own several other Kreg products so I was a bit disappointed when I opened this corner routing template guide set. The plastic is pretty flimsy, and I'm not sure the base would survive a fall or two on a concrete floor. But the biggest disappointment are the circular templates themselves. In the set I received, only the 1-1/2" template actually aligns with the base reference edges to form a 90-degree corner; the other guides are all out of square as shown in the photos. Granted they'll all create "rounded" corners but it doesn't speak well of the manufacturer or their view of their customer base. I mean, if you're going to the trouble of making a 2" radius template, why not actually make it a 2" radius? The locking mechanism in the base for the guides is also problematic: it's a very tight fit; hard going in and even worse coming out. Also, clamping the base to the workpiece (which I highly recommend) tends to bow the plastic a bit, in turn lifting/tilting the guide; the weight of a heavy router will force the guide back flat on the workpiece, but if you're using a light trim router, you may need to apply extra down force or you'll get a wavy edge that's not perpendicular. That said, I successfully rounded the corners of a table I'm building without incident. But this product isn't up to the standards of other Kreg products such as their pocket screw joinery line.

The Kreg PRS1000 Corner Routing Guide makes shaping corners easy. Makes all your corners on a project symmetrical. I particularly like the fact that my fingers are pretty far away from the business end of the router. I have seen other tools designed to do the same operation, but many of them look like your fingers are way too close to the router bit. Always use a jig saw or band saw to remove most of the material before using this this tool and a router. Safety must always be top priority.

I wish I would have tried this sooner when I first purchased it a year+ ago. I have other Kreg tools, so I (wrongly) assumed this would be of equal quality. My two main grips are: 1) the black inserts do not stay out very well. I noticed them moving (pulling outward) quite easily during normal operation 2) the “round” corners do not produce anywhere near a clean/flush corner. I thought it was user error at first, so tried numerous times with more than adequate pressure. However, no matter what I tried, there was always a noticeable transition from the round corner to the edge (both by eye and touch). After closer inspection I realized jig is poorly designed and does not achieve the proper depth of cut. The alignment pins prevent the edge of the board from lining up properly with the edge of the jig. I also triple checked all of my board corners to make sure they were truly square, since I know an out of square board will not produce expected results. I also confirmed with a machinist square that the alignment pegs do in fact impede the edges from lining up. This thing is now an overpriced paper weight that will probably eventually find its way into the trash, because I wouldn’t even want to donate it and plague someone else with horrible cuts. Unless you absolutely do not care about the quality of your cuts, avoid this product. Very unfortunate.

I bought this recently and one of the studs for alignment was missing, I was going to return it but I got in touch with kreg, who emailed back with tomaco (uk stockist I think) included, Lindsay from the company emailed quickly and easily, she sent the missing part the same day she emailed and I had it a few days later, very impressed at that. As for the tool, it seems like it is built well, I’ve only used it once to test and was fine, the way the blanks fit it, maybe it would snap if you pulled it the wrong way or too hard but I’m confident you can get spare parts in the UK now
