Wow!!!!!!
Epiphone SG Standard (White) – Review The Epiphone SG Standard in white delivers a stylish blend of classic rock aesthetics and solid performance at an accessible price point. With its iconic double-cutaway design and sleek Alpine White finish, this guitar instantly stands out visually, giving off strong vintage Gibson vibes without the hefty price tag. Build & Finish: The mahogany body and set neck offer surprising resonance and sustain, and the craftsmanship is impressive for a guitar in this range. The gloss finish is clean and even, with no noticeable blemishes. The Indian laurel fretboard is smooth, and the trapezoid inlays are well-fitted, adding to the vintage appeal. Tone & Playability: Equipped with Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers, the SG Standard offers a warm, punchy tone that’s perfect for blues, classic rock, and even heavier styles. The pickups have enough clarity and bite to cut through a mix but also handle overdrive and distortion gracefully. The SlimTaper neck profile is comfortable and fast, making it easy to play up and down the neck. 500k pods are hardwired! Hardware: The tuners are not Grover Rotomatics, but the Kluson tuners getthe job done. ( false advertising if you ask me) -.5 Final Thoughts: For players looking for a stylish, reliable guitar with a vintage look and sound, the Epiphone SG Standard in white is a fantastic option. It’s well-built, sounds great, and offers a lot of value. Whether you’re a beginner stepping into the world of rock or a seasoned player looking for a dependable backup, this guitar won’t disappoint. Quality
Beautiful guitar, great sound, Epiphone quality, I have several Newer Epiphones, and their quality has really improved in recent years, not saying it was bad, but They're getting closer to their big brother. The only minor issue, the ad clearly states Grover Roto-Matic tuners, it comes with Kluson style tuners. I use Grover style locking tuners, but I don't want to drill the headstock, I got Kluson style lockers, I just don't like them as much. I like this guitar more than the Gibson SG, (personal preference) I like a slim neck, the Gibson has a heavier neck like my Gibson Les Paul. By the way, do yourself a favor and spend $130.00 and buy the Epiphone SG case, it's the same Amazon seller so they'll come from the store. I usually buy an $80.00 universal case for most guitars, but this Guitar's worth the extra fifty bucks.

Best Bang for the Buck
The Epiphone SG may not be Angus Young's expensive Gibson cousin, but Gibson is most certainly the (good) ghost in the machine. In other words, if the 2k + price tag for a Gibson SG is too much on the pocketbook, it's twin cousin - the Epiphone SG - will not disappoint. I bought this for my 16 year old son, who (like me) learned his first chords on an entry-level, twangy, clunky, hide-from-your-friends, basement model. Hey, that's life. But, when I heard his playing improve, the Epiphone SG was the perfect guitar. for him to push things to the next level. To begin with, It looks cool (especially in white... wow!). Additionally, it has great neck action, good pick-ups, and admirable tone for the price. This guitar, in my opinion, is a gateway guitar -and a first cousin to- the premium guitar brands. Highly recommend!

Good set up
I was surprised that it already had a good set up when it arrived. I’ve ordered guitars from Amazon in the past and always had to get a professional set up done. This one appears to be all set up and ready as is. And it was almost in tune.

Good guitar for the price.
It’s not a Gibson but great for the price.

Split Neck!
Loved the guitar until I noticed that the neck is split near the headstock. I’m unsure if this is an inherent weakness of the Epiphone SG as the neck seems rather thin at this part of the neck!

Great sound quality
Guitar sound great and looks amazing. Super high quality. No need to spend your extra money on a Gibson when this is just as good.

Nice guitar
Great to play. Comes fitted with with 10 gauge strings - these might be a bit heavy for some - I'll put 009's on it. Won't fit into a standard case - buyer beware - the Epiphone hard case comes in at 125 quid! Their soft case is £45 cheaper but beware of roadies who hurl guitars into the back of the van.
