Unbelievably effective and a major help to back suffers. Best £20 You could ever spend. Amazing!
This is a great product at a fantastic price. I had borrowed a very similar product from a friend that made an immediate difference to me immediately I tried it. So much so I had to get my own ASAP. I found this version on Amazon and although it looked very similar I wonder if the manufactuer makes the product for another similar sounding brand. The question in my mind was whether or not this was a cheaper copy or if it would be up to the mark. I did have my doubts but then was convinced this was from the same manufacturer. Worst case scenario if it was not so good then at least I had the option to return it. Well, let me tell you I got this product today and it is as good if not better. It gives you some alternative variations and pulse rates and is unbelievably powerful. You really need to be a bit careful as to the level you set because you will not believe the strength of this small unit and what it is able to do. I cannot recommend this highly enough. If you suffer from a bad back or need some form of massage relief on muscles then this is really the best £20 you could ever spend. Just buy it! You will not regret your purchase.

It definitely does the job!
Perfect, this style of tens machine is easy to use. They alliviate the pain and stress well and the battery is easy to replace. (PP3) There are two set of pads, so you can spread the rythm of the sine waves across a wider range of your body. This deal came with a battery which I didn't expect... and lasted a good week (2-3 hours per day over the week!) Though I may have to buy a pair of rechargeable ones soon as pp3's aren't cheap. The machine is spot on, even for muscle toning.

Works well.
These are the only type of TENS machine worth buying in my experience. Not as good quality as some, case a little flimsy but works well enough. Good pads with plenty of adhesion. Easy to use and adjust for your preference.

Small, affective and easy to use.
I purchased this tens machine after my occupational therapist advicd that I buy one. She said the analogue machines are great, cheaper and easier to use. I have tendon and nerve damage to my wrist and also have lower back pain. I was very pleased with this machine as like she said it is easy to use. It comes with everything you need including four electrode pads. There are two dials which you just turn manually to your desired affect. Three modes settings that are easy to adjust, simply flip a switch. All in all I would say this is a simple but affective machine that I have found has helped with both my day to day aches and pains and my more serious soft tissue damage. It is small enough and light enough to pop in your pocket so you can carry on with day to day chores and no one will even realise it is there.

Excellent drug free pain relief! Basic, but it's all you need!
Having suffered bad back bouts for 30 years, I finally decided to invest in a TENS machine! I used one during labour and it worked a treat.I decided to buy this one as all the reviews were good, and it was basic. Personally I don't think you need to have a digital screen etc. I've been using it periodically on my lower back for the last 2 days and it's helped immensely. Can't fault this product, it delivers exactly what it needs to, there's definitely no need to spend any more money. It's light, unobtrusive, easy to use, the pads are amazingly sticky, although I did buy another 4 in case they weren't, and has a handy clip. Relieve your pain and buy it! //(*_*)\\

TENS operates fine but very poor build quality and accessories!!
I've been using TENS for 20+ years after I sustained a very nasty back/spinal injury whilst serving in the armed forces. The injuries themselves, subsequent spinal surgeries and internal metalwork left me very badly disabled and suffering from extreme chronic pain in my lower back, buttocks, hip(s) and leg(s) ever since. NOTHING is or ever has been an outright resolution. Thankfully, I learned about TENS early on whilst being treated at RAF Headley Court and it has been of some help on and off over the years. TENS is incredibly subjective however, some can and do get significant relief from it, others it may help more moderately or only a little and some people it just doesn't help at all. I'm unfortunately in the bracket where TENS is of a more limited help and some days it's more effective than others too. It does still help nevertheless and when suffering from such high levels of chronic pain you'll literally grab onto anything you possibly can that may help to give some extra relief in addition to prescription medications! I've had several TENS units over the years and my current favourite for quite some time is (or was) a model that multiple NHS trusts directly sold or gave to patients. I was thankfully given one for free by my pain management specialists. My unit is a BODY CLOCK 1ST CHOICE PLUS. (I think many NHS trusts currently sell the BODY CLOCK CLASSIC TENS which is an updated model in response to direct patient input but admittedly I'm not 100% certain on that!!!!) I'm going to directly compare this TOTALLY TENS against my current favourite as the manufacturer specifically lists it as being "styled to look like units used by the NHS and preferred by many patients".My mother has increasingly been suffering from back pain and had been using one of my much older more basic TENS units. I recently decided to purchase this Totally TENS model for her as it does have a very similar layout to my TENS and this model has the handy window for quickly checking the pulse width and rate to save her fiddling with the door to check, (although many users tend to leave these 2 settings completely alone anyway once they've found their optimal preferences and then adjust the intensity as required).1) Output. Barely differs from my Body Clock unit upon close comparison (I used my own trusted pads to test). After an hour or two I would have quickly adapted to this Totally TENS had I purchased it for myself. No major complaints there, it does the job as intended with one exception!! The modulated output isn't anywhere near as good as my Body Clock unit, it's not as smooth and I actually found it uncomfortable at times despite knowing the best settings and nothing I tried helped. (If new to TENS, start off with the standard continuous output until you get used to how things work). You can also easily set this unit to a continuous, 30 minute or a 60 minute timed output too which can have its uses. VERY simple to use indeed!2) Build quality. Not so good!! It looks and certainly feels incredibly cheap, and the quality is really quite poor. The sliding front face/door design isn't a great fit and it doesn't have any locks like my TENS. It could very easily be inadvertantly moved or even fall off and get lost if the unit is clipped externally to a belt or pocket. The door comes off completely once slid down far enough to access the battery and it's fiddly to put back into place too. Those with arthritis or unsteady hands may also struggle and heavily criticise this. The dials and switches look and feel incredibly cheap as well. The dials actually feel sloppy as they travel, they're not as solid and precise as the dials on my unit and the amount of travel isn't exactly proportionate to any adjustments made, (more so with the intensity dials). The leads are also VERY thin indeed, it really wouldn't take much to terminally damage them and TENS leads are quite easy to snag or catch even under the most careful use. The plugs on the leads and the sockets on the unit itself are also very small and quite poor, they're not particularly robust.3). Supplied electrodes (pads). Supplied in a resealable plastic pouch to keep them fresh (FYI, keeping them in a fridge helps prolong their life), other care instructions are included. They are the smaller square type with a thin cloth backing. They work sufficiently well and I did test them for a few hours, but I can't comment on their longevity as they'll never be used after their initial testing. (I prefer the larger rectangular type that covers a greater area personally but this is completely subjective). It'd be a good idea to source some extra pads anyway as their overall life is limited, (make sure you select the type with leads, not studs)!!4). Supplied extras. Full list - TENS unit, leads, pads, cheap 9V battery, manual and a case. The case is cheap polyester and it's unnecessarily large. It has a decent protective padding to protect everything within and some loosely elasticated internal mesh pockets for easy storage and access of the TENS and accessories. The case has a small strip of velcro on the front to fold the top flap down onto. *** GET DECENT HIGH DRAIN BATTERIES *** It really depends on the intensity you use and wether you're using just one or both channels, but a TENS can discharge a 9V battery INCREDIBLY RAPIDLY!! I haven't bothered with rechargables as the older NiCd types were pitiful for use in TENS, 20 mins at moderate intensity on a single channel and they were done. Newer NiMH may fair better, I just haven't ever got around to trying them.5). Manual and instructions. Sufficient and acceptable. The manual matches the exact model number stated. It doesn't appear to have been hastily and badly translated from Chinese to English although I scanned through it rather than scrutinised it. Plenty of information is provided of how to use a TENS, etc., as well as information on how or when a TENS shouldn't be used. Full technical specs are also included, as is the manufacturers info and warranty details.Supplied in a retail box. It works well for the most part but the build quality just isn't brilliant. You can purchase a much better quality Body Clock Classic on Amazon (a type used by the NHS) currently for £30 and those with a chronic disability can even claim back the VAT too. This Totally TENS unit seems to receive very high ratings which was another reason why I chose one in this instance. For the price it does perform adequately but it is a budget item and this certainly shows. As such, there are going to be those inevitable trade offs. If money is tight or you're happy to buy a cheaper unit simply to determine if you will actually benefit from TENS or not and plan to buy something more substantial later, this is an attractive option. If you've already owned a TENS and you're looking for a decent replacement however, spend the extra £5-10 (or more) and get a much better quality unit for your money. It may be "styled to look like units used by the NHS", but thats where many similarities end and it definitely isn't up to spec in other respects. In this instance, I now wish I had stuck with a brand I know and trust instead of bargain hunting but it could be worse. Only time will tell how long this unit lasts and I will certainly update this review if it fails within its warranty. A bargain perhaps but a few too many niggles for me given how heavily I rely on my TENS which has been used almost daily for the past 5+ years and still looks and performs as well as it did new. It's also inevitable my elderly mother will drop it or snag something at some point too and it just won't handle it!! Best I can rate it is 2/5 with all things considered. I would still recommend one however, there are certainly circumstances where one of these devices would be acceptable such as trying out a TENS to know if it will actually help you.Pictures:. 1.
