CSA Cases Workbook for the MRCGP, second edition Loose Leaf – 27 Jan. 2017

This is an excellent resource for trainees preparing for the CSA examination.There are a wide variety of cases with detailed observer marking schemes. There is also a useful section on preparing your revision for the exam.As a GP partner who has recently passed the CSA I would strongly recommend this to trainees preparing for this examination.

Useful to have a list of conditions you need to know for the exam. The one criticism I have is that there is not much in the way of book-knowledge learnt from the cases. It would be useful to have a quick outline of the condition and mangement (appreciating it changes as guidelines are updated). Of course you could look up the guidelines but it does interrupt your group practice if you do.Another improvement might be having a Qcode as well as the web links. Just a thought...

Very good cases

Really practical i.e. one paper for the observer, one for the dr, and one for the patient. so only need 1 folder, rather than two or three copies of a book. All cases seem relevant and realistic.

Great layout and user friendly for group practice but not much detail in the scenario feedback- need to look up management in other sources too.

After passing my CSA I can day this book is honestly the closest you can get to the CSA. Cases very realistic and an excellent marking sheet

Very helpful tool for practising.... The marking scheme is particularly helpful to look into the particular areas needed to be covered in a specific consultation.

Great CSA cases which I think were the closest to the real thing having now passed it. Love how it breaks it down into curriculum coverage allowing me to focus on weaker areas when I felt it was needed.
