Assuming that this blade is in fact the right one for your car, the hook at the end of the car's wiper arm should fit very securely into the blade. I remember that there's a satisying click as it fits in - but I might be wrong. Are you sure you're pushing it in hard enough? Don't forget that the blade is supposed to swivel on the end of the arm so that it follows the contour of the windscreen.
