A good value, external switch.
A perfectly fine waterproof switch from BG.The switch comes with 4 screws, 4 screw caps, and 4 black rubber bungs to place over your wall fixing holes. (Photo). If you fix it with dome headed screws, you will have less chance of cracking the back plate. The switch itself is a 2 way single pole switch, with a current rating of 20amps.All that means is that you either have continuity between COM and WAY 1 or COM and WAY 2, depending on which way the switch is.The neon indicator lamp, isn't fixed, so you can move it to either WAY 1 or WAY 2, depending on how your circuit is wired. (Photo). The back box has a good internal depth of 37mm. There is a knockout on each side, with one side having 2 knockouts. There is also a knockout in the centre of the back.Knockouts are 20mm but can be easily enlarged to 25mm.The actual electrical switch is a half sized unit, and would be easy to replace. There is a rubber membrane between the main switch that you press, and the electrical switch. (Photo). The switch has a nice satisfying click in use. When you fix it to your wall, do not forget to drill a small drain hole at the base of the back box unit. They are clearly marked 'DRAIN'. You only need to drill one, which will allow any condensation to drain out.Overall, this is a very well priced IP66 switch, that works well in use.I hope you found this review helpful.

Good quality exterior junction box
A good quality well made junction box. Perfect size for security lights giving room to work and hide a bit of excess cable. Good locking built into each corner. Recommended

A super quality junction box, eminently fit for purpose
A very good quality, rugged junction box at a great price, with all you need for space and weatherproof sealing, the cover is sealed by compressible rubber gasket, as you'd expect. However, it also comes with soft rubber caps that seal the heads of your base fixing screws inside the box. This prevents run-down and water ingress from the rear, as well as electrically insulating the screw heads.Lots of room internally without added clutter, permitting your size and choice of termination.Furthermore, the cable entry points are not the cheaper permanent break-out types of cheaper boxes, but are actually tightly-fitted plastic plugs than can simply be knocked out for rubber cable seals or glands. This makes things so much easier with a pre-installed/pre-wired box should you wish to run in additional cables in-situ at a later date, or even remove/reposition cables and plug the open holes off. Just leave the caps inside the box so you never lose them.A super quality product I would buy again without reservation.

Trouble with wiring...
A good, robust switch. Generally easy to install, but I wanted the Locator mode of the indicator to work. (The Locator mode means that the little light is on when the switch is off.) The leaflet showed a diagram of the factory default, but this was not how the switch was wired. I changed it round and yes, the indicator is off when the switch is on and on when the switch is off. The actual security light flashes on a 1 second cycle when the switch is off...... Interesting effect, but not what I wanted. Changed back to using just the switch, all fine. I suspect my problem might be that I'm using a LED security light.
