So far this has been a miracle in a bottle, I caught a stomach bug, everything from imodium, to probiotics and eating toast and drinking water wasn't doing anything, it's been over a week and nothing was changing, I've been taking this for just a day, and it soothed the stomach ache in the first day, I was able to fart again without blasting the inside of my pants, and today I'm finally somewhere resembling normal again, fingers crossed it keeps up, but so far it's doing exactly what it's supposed to, the taste is a bit grim but just wash it down with water and it's fine, if anything changes I will update my review but so far this has worked when nothing else was

Firstly, I should qualify my review by stating that I have suffered from diagnosed IBS for 6 years. 6 years of trying various diets and remedies and with little or no relief. Now then, it is also important to highlight that all IBS cases are different, and what might work as a remedy for one person, will only make someone else feel worse or, at best, no different. Having said all that, I have had very good results from using this product (currently on day 4) and my severe condition has been greatly improved. I have suffered severe and acute IBS-D with very sharp and unpleasant stomach pains, sudden and desperate need for the toilet and all the accompanying misery that goes with that, for several years. In just four days my symptoms have rapidly declined. I am comfortable after eating, I have had only minimal stomach discomfort and there has (so far) been no 'emergencies'. I have found that two doses per day are probably best for me as I was in danger of developing IBS-C instead! I would certainly recommended anyone with IBS-D to give this gel a try. It's a first class product, if a little pricey, and has improved my condition immensely. Yuk! This stuff is gag worthy! However if you know the debilitating pain your guts can bring to you it's well worth it for the relief. I'm a coeliac and have used it with success for reducing the pain associated with a gluten poisoning. It has also proved useful for heartburn and when a diarrhoea bug has assaulted the family. I've found using a measuring cup rather than a spoon means you can get the full dose down with the minimum amount coating your mouth with the unpleasantly gritty sticky stuff (tip head back and pour it as far towards the back of your tongue as you can). Have a glass of water ready to get rid of the residue. It can take up to 3 days to work it's magic if your in a bad way leaving you wondering if it would of cleared up on its own anyway but after prolonged experience using it I can tell the difference it makes- a bit like when your not sure if a paracetamol has made any diffference to pain but without it it's definitely more painful. The larger bottle is much better value when on offer but if you've never used this before perhaps try a small bottle first as after my first dose I swore I'd never take the disgusting stufff again but then stomach ache made me give it a second go and as they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating!

This really helps to calm down my IBS.

I purchased it when I had to be off my PPI medication. It does bring some relief, but is not as powerful. Worth trying though as PPI has a lot of side effects, especially if used for prolonged periods of time (ie causing magnesium deficiency). I would stay, if you stick to the correct diet, avoid sugary snacks and stuff, which aggravate your heartburn symptoms, this gel should be sufficiently soothing.

My problem is not with IBS or similar but the constant upset tummy by being on blood thinner tablets and subsequent addition on a PPI Omeprazole to counteract the possibility of getting a stomach ulcer by use of the blood thinner. While this is all well and good then I have had a constant upset stomach now for 6 months. Repeat changing of the medications and all manner of tests have proved nothing except that the combination of any of the above had led me to have an upset stomach. Desperate to get my life back on track I tried the SILICOLGEL more in hope than expectation but how surprised I have been.3 days of use and the stools are back to normal as is the stomach. have noted the various comments about costs and personally I do not think this preparation is that expensive. If a Bottle (500 mills) costs some £15 and gives you 33 dosages and you take 3 per day then that is going to cost some £1.36 p per day or, as reported some can get by with 1, or 2 dosages then the cost could fall to 46p per day which I suggest is that not much for the relief, or my case, cure, to date it has given me. I have read also about the horrible taste and I have avoided this by using a large tablespoon, putting the spoon fully into my mouth and swallowing the liquid. I never get to taste the mixture nor do I wish to! This works for me and those who struggle with the ingestion of this product might wish to try it. So, to date my problem is ‘cured’ and let me hope that this is the end of it but I will continue to experiment by taking this product for a few weeks more hopefully I can reduce or wean myself off the product but I will keep it in stock just in case it is needed.

Fantastic. Healthier than other brands which contain sweetener

I suffered with severe stomach problems for about 5 years. I had very little that I could eat without leaving me bloated and in pain. My life was crap. Nothing worked and I tried everything on the market and from GP. I came across this by sheer chance. I read the reviews and even though they were good I didn’t hold out much hope as nothing had even come close to working for me. It taste revolting , like lumpy wet cardboard. It took about 3 days to work but I’ve not looked back since. I’m not exaggerating when I say it changed my life. I’m now back to how I used to be. I still keep a eye on what I eat but my stomach problems are 90% better. It’s quite expensive but in my opinion you can’t put a price on a pain free life so it’s worth every penny. I’m on my 4th bottle now. I got a couple from supermarket but it’s cheaper on amazon. If your suffering I really do advise giving this a go. It really helped me.
