BODUMBistro Bread Box, Black, Large

Great size, and stylish. The chopping board feature is so good. Even though it’s plastic, it doesn’t look or feel like plastic. Really easy to clean and is so roomy - fits a large loaf of bread and a box of a dozen eggs! It’s great. Bought in black because of my colour scheme but I would love another colour at some point too. Reasonable price as well (£22) for good quality product.

Compact room for 2 loaves low profile

This is a smart and generally practical bread bin. I like the fact that it has an adjustable vent that does seem to inhibit mould growth. I don't use a lot of bread, so a loaf can last me for nearly a week. In this bin, it's fine at the end of that time. It loses a star for 2 reasons:1. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bamboo lid does tend to warp.2. It doesn't take a farmhouse loaf - not even a small one - without the lid having to be slightly raised. That strikes me as sloppy design. Bakers' tins are standard sizes.Addendum: Although I'm sure this isn't the intention, you can turn the lid upside down to accommodate a loaf properly. This partially addresses my objection (2) - but not enough to change my rating to 5 stars.

it was small for my bread storage , still a good bread box

If you like large loaves of bread, this bin provides ample storage. Lid doubles as cutting board. Very nice looking.

The bread bin holds a large loaf and rolls as well, the top doubles as a bread board. It is easy to clean and has an end vent. Looks good on the work top too.

I have known the Bodem brand for years, generally good value and quality, affordable well designed kitchen items that will last and they are big users of plastic. I knew what I was getting when I order the bread bin, plastic container with wooden lid, unfortunately it was the lid that let the bread bin down. The lid is described as a bread board and is way too thin for purpose. In just one week of ownership the humidity of the bread inside the bread bin has caused the wood to expand on the underside leaving us with a warped lid. The wood should be twice the thickness at least, just like a normal bread board but it isn't, simply too flimsy and lightweight for use with a sharp bread knife. I probably will not return the item but disappointing from a big brand like Bodem.

It looks nice, which is why I bought it, but the lid doesn’t fit on properly so the container isn’t sealing the bread in and therefore not fit for purpose in terms of keeping bread fresh. It didn’t fit perfectly right from the start but it seems to have got much worse. This picture is after just a few weeks. It has developed a curve. I don’t use the lid as a chopping board or put hot things in or on top of it, and haven’t washed or otherwise wet it.

Keep the bread fresh.

The wooden lid warped in a few days and does not close properly anymore.

Super Brotkasten, nur verzieht sich der Deckel immer wieder etwas!Ich kenne das auch noch schlimmer von anderen Dosen und Deckeln aber immer mal etwas feucht abwischen und wenden.Somit lasse ich das seitlichen Fenster zu da der Kasten oben nie ganz dicht ist, UND DASS IST GUT SOGutes Produkt
