Velbon CX-888 Tripod for DSLR Cameras

I did a little video filming job for a friend and as a thank you she gave me some money to buy a tripod. When this tripod arrived I was immediately surprised at the quality of it. It looks strong, robust and stylish. It is also very smooth at panning and tilting etc. It is a brilliant tripod for the price. And even though its strong its also lightweight and comes with a nice carry bag. This is a great tripod for DSLR and small video cameras. I'm really pleased with it.

Whereas this is not as robust as my professional tripod, it does represnt excellent value for money.Where it scores over the professional model is by the fact that it is so light and easy to carry. It is sturdy enough for use in most situations and I am impresed by it overall - especially at this ridiculously low price.

Delivery as per usual second to none (two days before estimate). This tripod is superb!! Silky black finish and just the right height fully extended for my six foot frame. Four leg sections means more compact when packed in the free bag and with a surprisingly smooth action 3-way pan & tilt head, It's the buisness. Any concerns about sturdiness, rigidity and build quality was blown away, just don't use a 1275mm tele-photo and you'll be fine!A review on another website said the elevation handle was flimsy but he/she must be using it as if to close an emergency water-tight door - come on! do you really need to crank it up that fast? Anyway, I'm using a Panny FZ100 and anything weighing four times this will be fine so a hefty DLSR+tele-photo will be catered for.Before I go, look on Ebay for this little beauty - It's going for £53 plus delivery!!!.....Did I mention the silky black finish?

The tripod is nice and sturdy, smooth pan and tilt action and good value. The only surprise was that it doesn't come with the speed mount for the camera and isn't usable until you get that.

Good solid, sturdy tripod which is very well made for the money. It is not too heavy but still seems well built enough to withstand a fair level of use. It comes with a quick release shoe for the camera for quick and easy removal and a carry bag. At full extension (which is quite high) the tripod is still pretty rock solid. The only thing it could do with is a hook on the underside to hang your camera bag off, but for the money this product offers fantastic value for money.

i choose this one becouse i just wanted to learn how to use a tripodand i've recieved defective product, the problem with this product waswhen i place dslr, it wasnt holding properly and i didnt replaced coz it was cheap

Having been used to Velbon DF60 and requiring a second tripod, on finding DF60 unobtainable at the time I purchased the CX-888.Although it served its purpose I found it far too flimsy for serious use especially for astronomical purposes. A further annoyance was that the head size was reduced so cameras were not interchangeable between tripods.

For a tripod at this price bracket we've been delighted, its sturdy without being heavy and its a very nice compact size when folded to carry around. It holds our Canon Eos 1100D very securely and its very stable, perfect for keen beginners like us.Hopefully the clamps on the legs last longer than they did on our previous Manfrotto compact.

The planning on this is smooth and easy great for videoing.

Los mandos son accesibles y ergonómicos, de un tamaño apropiado para accionarlos con comodidad.Velbon CX-888 pesa algo más que los ultraligeros, pero sigue siendo aceptable el compromiso de tamaño y peso combinando una buena robustez.El tacto de los materiales resulta agradable con sus formas redondeadas y el aspecto del acabado en negro es bueno.La base puede dejarse roscada en la cámara, de manera que con solo un clic ya queda montada la cámara en el trípode. Esto es muy práctico ya que en algunas ocasiones otro trípode no lo montaba por lo engorroso de roscar cada vez la cámara.Comparado con otros ultraligeros es que otros modelos más ligeros resultan perfectos para el transporte, pero una vez montada la DSLR este vibra con el viento, y en días ventosos incluso termina cayendo al suelo; lo solucionas bajando la altura del trípode, pero aveces queda ya demasiado abajo.

Un prodotto costruito molto bene, di grande qualità e con un rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente.E' molto solido e stabile.Consigliato a chi ha un pò di spazio, perchè comunque le dimensioni non sono proprio da passeggio, anche se con la sacca si trasporta facilmente.

Dieses Stativ ist Super für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene, Profis die 100% und mehr möchten sollten sich an Manfrotto und Cullmann halten oder andere Hersteller, da dieses Stativ sowie der Kopf den Profis nicht gerecht werden . Aber nun zum Stativ es ist für diese Preisklasse nicht zu Toppen es ist für Aufnahmen bei Nacht und am Tag ausreichend, es ist leicht hat eine angenehme Größe (nichts für Leute über 180cm) Robust und hat einen guten halt auf fast jeder Fläche. Die platte ist Kompatibel mit jeder DSLR od. DSLT Kameras. Die aussage der Tragfähigkeit 1,5 Kg ist Ok, ich nutze es sogar mit 2,5Kg, durch die Streben die weit auseinander liegen ist auch hier noch Stabilität vorhanden bei hohen Gewicht. Es lässt sich schnell Auf-und Abbauen und ist mit seiner Transportgröße und Gesamtgewicht ein angenehmer Tages -und Reisebegleiter. Durch die Drehkurbel an der Seite ist ein genaues ausfahren des Kopfes auf eine bestimmte höhe möglich. Für Makro aufnahmen nah am Boden ist es befriedigend aber nicht Sehr Gut wenn man sehr weit nach unten muss.Dennoch bin ich zufrieden und mit einer Hersteller Garantie von 10 Jahren kann man davon ausgehen das hier nicht Billigmaterial verarbeitet wurde. Der Kopf ist aus Plaste sowie die Kurbel macht aber einen guten Eindruck, die Stativbeine sind aus Aluminium und die Gelenke wieder aus Plaste aber kein Billigmaterial. Das CX 888 wurde zuerst in Japan, China auf dem Markt gebracht meines Wissens und hat den weg nach Europa gefunden.Es hat zudem ein Two Way Head womit sich die Platte beliebig nach, Nord, Ost, Süd und West montieren lässt.Für alle Starter ist es ein Sahnestück für Profis lediglich ein Blitzhalter.Ich kann es jeden empfehlen der nicht gleich 100€ und mehr ausgeben möchte.

Je viens de recevoir ce pied et je dois dire que la première chose qui vient à l'esprit est : qualité. En effet, pour ce prix (- de 40 euros) je m'attendais à du matériel de bonne facture mais pas à ce point! Sans non plus crier "ô perfection" la conception de ce pied "à l'ancienne" est parfaite : bonne tenue générale, le mélange platic/aluminium est plutôt ingénieux (poids moindre et solidité accrue) et une manivelle présente au mouvement vertical (haut/bas) fluide pour une utilisation en caméra vidéo. Pour le reste rien à dire, tout est parfait.Le seul point discutable reste le poids qui pour le transport est peut-être un poil élevé, quoi que... Mais bon, un sac est joint au colis et ma foi il est plutôt solide et pratique pour emmener son pied en voyage ou autre(s) excursion(s).
