Excellent for raspberry pi
This is a really good product. I use it to power a raspberry pi system in the garden. Although this can power the pi directly with 5v I selected to use 12v because the project includes high powered devices with relays. I then have a separate voltage regulator for the Pi. While I was putting this all together I stupidly shorted the rails more than once. The PoE adapter seems to have protection from this and it cut out immediately and no damage was done. THis has been running for more than a year without any issues. Great price too.

Does exactly what it says it does.
They did exactly what I needed .I ran table down to the outbuilding at the bottom of my garden , a fair distance. And used it to power my wireless router and connect or to my internet router. Easy to install and works. Great piece of kit.

Only used injector
I only need a PoE injector but I haven't found a better price than this even if I just throw the splitter away. It powered all the IP cameras I threw at it from Sony HD ones to big Lilin ones with beefy Infrared lights. Not had any problems yet, will update if anything goes wrong :)

This is not 802.3af or at compliant
There is nothing wrong with the product but take note, the devices are designed to inject power at one end and put the other unit on the other end to extract it and supply the device via an external connector with 5/9/12 volts DC. True PoE supplies power straight to the end device via the ethernet connection no spitter at the other end. i.e. this device is not an IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at compliant device, if you don't need it to be compliant then don't worry it is cheap and worth the price if you do then find something else.

Great solution for odd problems
One of the cheapest and easiest ways to fix the PoE problem for devices that don't support PoE out of the box. Like the Raspberry Pi. While it may seem like an expensive solution at first, keep in mind that this is a lot more than just a PoE injector. You get a 48V0.5A power supply (hard to put a value on but would most likely cost almost as much to buy separately), an injector and perhaps most importantly a splitter with a built-in step-down (buck) converter. The converter can output 5V2A, 9V1A or 12V1A so it'll basically cover all consumer network devices. I haven't done precise measurements, but it looks like at least the 5V and 12V are a tad boosted to stay just within tolerance but possibly solve issues of voltage drop (like on the Raspberry Pi). Not sure how I'll power the Pi though as it takes power from the GPIO, USB or micro USB. Some DIY, dupont cables and soldering may be required depending on your preference.

check the voltage!
this unit blew up two of my cameras; the output at the splitter end is 8.8v when set to 5v which meant that it was over the allowed range for my cameras; now i have dummy cameras!

Nah, I'm sorry I bothered
A complicated set-up, not particularly informative when it comes to instructions and doesn't seem to supply power via an ethernet cable so no use for network cameras, etc. It's probably unfair to blame the actual units and it's probably my fault for not researching the things in as much detail as they need but I really don't like them.

Good no fuss kit
Arrived on time. Works perfectly. Had an earlier version of this and the relevant IP camera was always a bit flaky and wouldn't power up reliably with POE. I was worried I'd have to access the camera and re-do the cabling. This unit worked first time with the existing set-up.

Purchased this POE for an outdoor camera. Works as advertized. If you have a device that is POE compatible, this is the device for you.
