Your Birthday Book: A Keepsake Journal

A lovely yearly record that is not onerous to do
I was given one of these for my daughter's first birthday. She will be seven this year and I have been buying them for all one-year olds that I know ever since! It is a lovely record and the fact that you only have to do it once a year means that it doesn't become an onerous task - I have three now and, even though two of the birthdays are only a week apart, there is always time to get these done.

Lovely book, lovely idea.
I got the birthday book at the same time as the belly book in my first pregnancy - which may sound a bit strange but you never know when companies will stop making things and I thought it'd be nice to have sort-of matching stuff! As with the belly book, it is for an American audience for example getting a driving licence (license!) on 16th birthday but it's all stuff that can be overlooked. There is an 'interview' for each birthday (up to 18th) with different questions. I love the 9th birthday year where there is a 'what was cool then...and now' for the grown up and the kid to fill in! There's also a pocket for each year for you to include things like party invitations, school reports and a genius idea of including a quick note from the current self to the eighteen year old self! The presentation of the book is lovely and would suit boy or girl. My only negative would be that this book will be no surprise present on their 18th birthday. Each year there is the interview process for the child and even sections for them to write/draw in the book - I find it hard to believe that you'll get a 16, 17 or 18 year old to sit down long enough to answer lots of questions without them asking what you're doing! Saying that, I'll be giving it a go!

Perfect for keeping those memories
I have had this for a while and have only just started to fill it in for my five year old son. I love it, he will love it. I have the filled in pregnancy books, the filled in baby books but nothing for beyond. I bought this and the school one, to help preserve the memories of fun times.I love the little interview pages, they have different questions so when I ask my five year old the questions I should have asked him at 4 he won't be repeating himself, so don't worry if your child has had a few birthdays already, this books is still great.I love it so much I have just ordered another copy to start with my two year old son.Now off to print out some photos to put in the books time capsule pages.

Birthday Book .... Great Gift!!!!
It is good quality book and is a great idea to give to your child when they are 18 years of age to look back on what they have done over the years or answers to questions at different ages. I bought it as a present for my daughter in laws birthday shower and asked her friends to write on a card to be placed in the book for her son when he is 18 .... Their piece of advice for him.

Such a well thought out book!!
I loved this book when searching for it online. I loved it even more when I received it. I have thoroughly enjoyed filling it in and cannot wait to fill it in when my daughter starts talking and giving us funny quotes to write down.Unlike other books you can fill this in until they are a lot older, there are great prompts to help you write down memorable things from each year of their life. However, this book is aimed at the American market with some of the terminology used and reference to driving age at 16. Nevertheless, I would still recommend this book to the British market too! A great buy.

I just recieved this book and looking through it i think it is fantastic for your childs journey to adulthood. The book is very creative with sealable envelope pages to put keepsakes in it for your child. The is a page for every year oftheir birthday and includes thoughts and interviews.A very creative book and I would reccommend to everyone I love it and I cant wait to use it.

Absolutely lovely
I will rate all 3 books the same - absolutely lovely. Compared to other products which have either too much info for you to write or not much at all (blank pages!) this is great as a keepsake for your child. It is funny and easy to fill in for a busy parent, doesn't take huge amount of time.

A “ no-guilt” child record book.
This is a lovely record/ journal book from Amy Krouse. Sadly, her amazing creative talent is gone now, but her work continues as an inspiring legacy. We all are familiar with baby books that are usually. meticulously filled out for the first child, but subsequent children generally find their baby record books less tended to! ( Sorrykids, loved you ALL, but had SO much to do!) It is when we send them off to college and to fend off “empty nest” syndrome, we start cleaning out closets and find the old baby record books. Then the real guilt and sadness sets in- first book dusted off is filled with memories, then others are filled with emptypages. This book, however, is designed to make the record keeping quick and fun. The essentials are all there, but keeping up will not be a tedious job. There are always so many things we are so sure we’ll never forget about our growing children, but the truth is, we forget a lot. This book is designed to jog your future memory without making recordkeeping overwhelming in the present. Get this for yourself or as a gift for another parent. It will be a gift that keeps on giving formany years. Sturdy, concise, well-designed.

Awesome book!
Such a great keepsake to have, this will be priceless for your son/daughter one day. Pages are 10x8 inches, a bit smaller than I was expecting but I don't know why you would need it to be any bigger. The pages are like cardstock so they're not flimsy which is nice. Pages are coiled and the cover is adorable. There are also "exclusive interview" pages starting at the 3rd birthday and the questions change as age goes up, really well done. There are pouch pages (time capsules) where you can keep clippings, hand tracings or whatever you can think of. There are also bonus pages along the way to allow you to capture a moment in time. So very happy with this product, it's a wonderful idea and I highly recommend it to anyone with a child. You can still buy it if you haven't hit the third birthday mark yet as that's the year the interviews start.

Unique gift idea for a first birthday
Really neat idea, and it’s cute. Looking forward to doing this with my son every year. The annual interview is fun, and the time capsule sealable envelopes is nice way to hold onto things like invites or special cards to look back at later. I can see getting this as a first birthday gift for babies in the future.
