When I saw this Neocore speaker for sale I could not resist it. I am a fan of Neocore tablets because of their high performance and quality design at a reasonable price.I was not disappointed. The sound is powerful, more powerful than any of the other small speakers I've had, and I've had a few. There is a rawness to the sound which emphasises power over subtlety. It works well for me as I can feel the music.Robustness and resilience is important to me; I've owned some good speakers which have let me down quickly when either the audio or recharge inputs have worn out well before time, leading to disappointment as I have not had enough use out of them. This speaker appears very robust, it is sufficiently heavy (but not too heavy) to carry the bass. I have another speaker with a good bass, not as good as this one, that takes a flying death leap from my shelf if I don't set it far enough back because of the vibrations. This speaker has two rubber stands at it's bass that comes with peel off protective plastic; this helps to keep it solidly in place.The buttons take a bit of getting used to, long or short holds depending on the function you want. Normally I don't bother much with instructions on a device like this but I found after a bit of trial and error that it was useful to run through the notes. I think that it will become easier in time and adds to the simplicity, having less parts that can go wrong. There have been some reviews to say that the volume jumps significantly and is hard to set at the right level; this is not a concern for me as I control the volume from my phone.The Bluetooth works well which is my preferred way of using it. It comes with an audio cable but I don't use this as there is more chance of wear and tear. All inputs, audio, charger and SD card slot are protected by a rubber cover which looks well designed being attached by a rubber cord that extends, again minimising wear and tear, and adds to the waterproof quality. It can be used in the rain or shower so it says, although I have not tried it.It comes with a hands free phone facility, you can toggle a switch to enable it and it has a built in microphone. I do not use this so cannot comment on it. It also has the capacity to take a 256gb SD card so can act as a stand alone music player, again, as I do not use it, I cannot comment on it.It has a retro look of an old 70's transistor radio although it is only half the height. I'm not so sure about the design. I would prefer an all black casing personally but it looks good enough. It comes with a lanyard which, as other reviewers have said is the devil's own job to fit. I spent the first half hour after unpacking it trying to fit it. Eventually with the use of an unfolded paper clip, I managed and felt quite a sense of achievement!I am very happy with this speaker. Let's see if it stands the test of time. I will update this post if it does not. It is listed as being reduced from £60. This was only for sale on March 15th 2017 at this price. The rest of the time it has sold for less than £32 and seems well worth the money.

Really great little speaker. For it's size the quality and volume are incredible, as as others have said the battery life is amazing.I'm always surprised about how critical people are of the sound quality of small units like this, and it makes it very difficult to choose something. Half of people will review and say "amazing sound quality, great bass" the other half "terrible sound quality, awful base". Let me try and clear it up with this speaker, as someone that cares about how music sounds...10w is pretty impressive for such a small speaker, and the volume is pretty staggering. It is not difficult to turn it up to be way too loud for a standard home setting, and works great outdoors. There is little distortion even at the higher volumes, but the unit itself does start to vibrate which can cause some audible noise on a hard surface - only with the volume too high though. The bass is fine, but not incredible, nothing is lost listening to most tracks only Drum and Bass fans will be disappointed. The overall sound quality is very good and more than suitable to listen to music while cooking, taking to the beach or at a BBQ. Is it the best quality speaker man has conceived and does it give the most incredible audio performance? No. because it's a 10w portable, waterproof, bluetooth speaker costing £30. If you need a 10w, portable, waterproof, bluetooth speaker, and have around £30 to invest I would recommend this one happily. It looks great, sounds fine and has a great battery.

Sound quality is surprisingly good, battery life is amazing, I haven't had the chance to try the SD card operation, but the radio doesn't work, just white noise even with the power cable inserted as suggested by Neocore and 20 minutes trying to tune it.

Excellent sound and connecting with bluetooth is very simple and quick. I am very pleased with this and is a good companion to my Neocore tablet that unfortunately seems to have been designed with awfull sound. This speaker feels well put together. The only bad point is that the top and bottom edges of the aluminium case feel "sharp" to the touch. Nothing to worry about but it does spoil the feel of this otherwise very good little speaker.
