is foam better than powder

Good Afternoon, It all depends on what you are using this for. Powder is a good extinguisher that can tackle a lot of different type of fires, but it is not recommended to be used in confined spaces as it can cause breathing difficulties. This is why the powder is more suited for construction sites and garages. The Foam can't tackle as many types of fire as the Powder but it is still a very good extinguisher. If you was looking for an extinguisher for an office or home then foam is the way to go. I hope this helps. Kind Regards Tom

Yes the extinguisher is ready for use just hang it on its bracket and leave till needed. It will however need to have an annual check each year.
