G502 X Plus -- A Worthy successor to earlier G502's for FPS games
The 2022 Logitech G502 X Plus was a very pleasant surprise. It is replacing a Logitech G-Pro that is roughly 80 grams weight on a Logitech Powerplay mouse pad (expanded cover for extra space and non-stop charging), primarily used for Overwatch2. Other gaming mice in my collection include earlier G502's, G903, Razer Death Adder + Copperhead, Steelseries Rival3 and Rival600, etc. Generally the best performers in FPS games are the lightest units with the best optical sensors, and the G502 X Plus definitely fits that criteria. Pros: -Comfortable ergonomic shape for marathon gaming sessions -PTFE mouse feet for super-smooth glide across mouse pads -The new optical hybrid switches are incredibly fast compared to the G-Pro's older Omron switches, with a nice crisp click and improved actuation. They will last much longer than conventional mechanical switches and correct double-clicking issues. My last G-Pro's right rear thumb switch suffered from double-clicking issues since they were the old Omron mechanicals that wore out from constant use. -Nice RGB lighting if you are looking for that kind of bling -This mouse wakes from sleep mode instantly (like the G-Pro series). The old G502 Hero Wireless required a full second to wake up, making the old sleep mode feature extremely inconvenient and annoying. -At 106 grams list weight, the G502 X Plus is a tad heavier for a gaming mouse. However, coming from an 80 gram G-Pro, I notice better aim stability without sacrificing flick aim consistency. With the Powerplay charging puck attached and USB receiver stored inside, the G502 X Plus hits 110g on my postal scale. The G502 Hero wireless is 120g with the same accessories. Cons: -No more adjustable weights like its predecessor G502, but to be fair, the whole e-sport industry has shifted competitive user demand to lighter weight mice for the fastest aim flicks possible. -Battery power drains faster with RGB lighting at full settings. This is mitigated by reducing RBG brightness to 85% and shortening idle-mode entry from 2 minutes down to 1. Using a Logitech Powerplay mouse pad, my mouse battery power hovers around 78% to 90% steady with RGB enabled. -The mouse's black finish tends to have shiny oil stains and wear marks over time. This is why I apply blue painter's tape to the areas most prone to this issue. EDIT Feb 2024 - I've replaced the blue painter's tape with automotive carbon fiber vinyl wrap for better visual appeal. Not recommended if you do not like the feel of textured carbon fiber, but it definitely gets rid of those shiny oil stains. Picture attached. -GHub software will not allow users less than 3 DPI presets, and all of these have to be different values at 50dpi intervals. I tried to "lock" my mouse at 1000dpi to avoid accidental DPI switching, but the software would not allow me to do this, so I ended up moving my DPI cycling button to the default profile button up top and removing the up/down DPI adjustment buttons next to the left click. This gave me two additional buttons for other programable functions (like Alt and middle-mouse click since pressing the mouse wheel down can feel awkward). EDIT -- GHUB finally fixed this issue. I can now run with just 1000dpi single setting. -The new hybrid mechanical switches have a different click sound compared to conventional switches -- not really louder, but definitely more metallic. Yes, this mouse is expensive, but the combination of lighter weight + excellent ergonomics + fast/crisp long-wear switches makes this model very hard to beat. If you are looking for a mouse with more weight and heft, then you may not be happy with the G502 X since the latest model has been redesigned for the e-sports crowd. The G502 X now combines lighter weight with an ergo shape, something that most ultra-light mouse offerings lack. NOTE: If you want the best wireless mouse experience, I recommend pairing the G502 X Plus with a Logitech Powerplay for non-stop wireless charging while using the mouse. For those that want a larger mouse pad than what the default Powerplay size offers, check out "Logitech powerplay mousepad expansion mod" on youtube. I have my set-up displayed in the attached images along with actual weight compared to the old G502 Wireless. Update 4/26/2023: The Glorious XL mousepad is the perfect thickness for this Powerplay expansion mod. EDIT: I just read a few other reviews claiming that the G502 X feels "cheap" because it feels too light. The whole point of lowering mouse weight is to minimize mass, thereby requiring less physical energy / effort to move the mouse quickly and accurately. This is how modern e-sports mice are designed, because a lighter mouse is a faster mouse, while a heavier one is a slower boat anchor that is usually on the losing end of an FPS fire fight. The G502 X Plus is only 10 grams lighter than the G502 hero, yet it is much easier to flick-aim than the older G502 Hero Wireless. Also, if you want RGB on the G502 X, you have to get the Plus edition, other wise you get no RGB. Yet one newer review complained about missing RGB LED's on his G502 X non-Plus edition. Going no-RGB is still a valid choice since it saves a few grams, extends battery life, and costs less, but just make sure you know what you are buying ahead of time. ;)

Exactly what you would expect from a direct upgrade.
TBH if your looking for a G502/HERO/Lightspeed replacement there is no complaints in my opinion. Its just a hair bit wider then the previous 502s almost unnoticeable but if you hold them together there is a slight difference. The battery life for it so far has been good for me only been having to charge it like once a week it feels like. It feels like a upgraded 502 lightspeed which is what is. I like that they gave us a option to replace the thumb button with a flat cover that matches the mouse curve so you dont have to have the thumb button for those of us like myself who accidentally press it and never actually use it. Compared to what we paid at launch for the g502 it feels comparable for value and performance. The scroll wheel feels like a nice upgrade from the deep groves to more of a slightly grooved surface thats easy to catch with your finger without issues. The only thing could probably complain about is lack of weights for those who like the weighted options is not super light but its definitely not as heavy as the previous models so people who like the weight of the 502 hero or lightspeed with weights it is gonna be lighter. I like how they changed the charging cable over to the C type charger just like the G733 headphones it still slides it like before but its alot easier to slide in and out and the cable has a good hold when plug in without that feeling like you might rip it if you pull to hard. Other than that software wise minus the RBG change on the body of the mouse it does everything the same as the HERO and Lightspeed models so its pretty much a direct upgrade and replace without having to relearn or figure new stuff out.

Great gaming mouse
I've been using the Logitech G502 X Plus for about a week now, and it's been excellent so far. I came from an older gaming mouse, and the difference was noticeable right away. Everything feels incredibly smooth and responsive, whether I'm gaming or just using my computer for everyday tasks. Setup couldn't have been easier. I plugged in the wireless receiver, turned the mouse on, and it worked immediately. It was truly plug and play. Installing Logitech G HUB was simple too, and customizing the buttons and RGB lighting only took a few minutes. The mouse feels very well built and comfortable to use, even during longer gaming sessions. The clicks are crisp, the scroll wheel feels solid, and the sensor tracks flawlessly. I also really like having the extra programmable buttons. They've already become useful for both gaming and general productivity. While I can't speak to the long term durability yet, my first impression has been extremely positive. I honestly don't have any complaints so far. If it continues performing this well over time, it'll easily be one of the best gaming mice I've owned. If you're looking for a high quality wireless gaming mouse that's easy to set up and performs exactly as you'd expect, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a look.

My New Gaming Sidekick: The Logitech G502 X Plus!
Alright, let's talk about the new star of my desk setup – the Logitech G502 X Plus Wireless Gaming Mouse. As someone who spends a good chunk of time in front of the PC, this isn't just a peripheral; it's practically an extension of my hand, and honestly, it feels like it was designed specifically for me. First off, the wireless freedom is a game-changer (pun absolutely intended). Ditching the cable is just chef's kiss for decluttering and those intense gaming sessions where every millisecond counts. And the LIGHTSPEED Optical connection? Flawless. There's no perceptible lag, no hiccups, just pure, unadulterated responsiveness. My old M720 Triathlon is still great for everyday use, and it's my go-to when this beast needs a charge, but for serious pixel-peeping and headshot hunting, the G502 X Plus blows it out of the water. The HERO 25K Sensor is no joke. I'm talking pinpoint accuracy that makes navigating my Alienware 38 Curved and 34 QD-OLED monitors feel like butter. Whether I'm trying to land that perfect shot or meticulously editing a document, this mouse tracks like a dream. And the LIGHTFORCE Switches? Every click feels crisp and satisfying, giving you that tactile feedback that just confirms your action. No mushiness here, just pure, responsive clicks. Then there's the LIGHTSYNC RGB. Look, I appreciate a bit of flair, and this mouse delivers without being over the top. It adds that perfect touch of gaming aesthetic, syncing up with the rest of my setup, like my Gimars RGB Gaming Mouse Pad. It just makes the whole experience feel more immersive and, frankly, cooler. This mouse just fits. The ergonomic design feels great in my hand, even during those extended sessions. It's not too light, not too heavy, and the button placement feels intuitive. It's built for comfort and performance, and you can really tell. In short, if you're serious about your PC experience, especially gaming, the Logitech G502 X Plus is an absolute winner. It's fast, accurate, comfortable, and looks damn good doing it. My gaming setup feels complete with this bad boy. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier wireless gaming mouse!

Great mouse but terrible software
Good mouse, i like it. the buttons are useful, its ergonomic for long sessions, the lighting is cool (even if you can’t see it while using it) and i put some glass skates on and some grip tape to protect the grey rubber grips it already has. the wireless or wired option is great and the battery genuinely lasts a really long time, i charge it like once a week and it charges quick too. only complaint is the software you need to use to set up your dpi settings and lighting and all that is GARBAGE it’s soo bad! they really need to improve the software so for that reason its 4 stars, its that bad.

Gamer Requested and Gamer Approved
I bought this as a gift for a gamer who specifically requested this mouse, so expectations were already pretty high. It ended up being a great gift and they were very happy with it. They especially liked the feel and responsiveness for gaming, along with the wireless design and RGB lighting. When someone who games regularly asks for a specific mouse and loves it once they get it, I’d say that’s a win!

Avoid. The G-Hub software simply does not work.
Title says it all. I bought 2 of these, figuring I could sync profiles between my desktop and laptop gaming systems. The mouse is mechanically well built, but there are plenty of mice that are mechanically just as good. If you're buying a gaming mouse with all the extra buttons, then you probably play more than one video game... which requires software to change the "profile" or button functions for each different game... and that's where this mouse falls apart. The G-hub software seems designed to do everything Except what you want to do: -You want to change button functions? By Yourself? Gosh, even if you do figure out the interface and psychically intuit that the keys have to be drag/dropped onto the buttons to change them, they still won't change. I mean, why would you need to? We scanned all software on your hard drive and sent the list to our marketing dept, and they auto-set profiles that work great! They promise! -You want to unlock the profile so you can change the button settings? Aw, too bad choom. It's locked because, um, we felt it was necessary to lock the buttons for some reason. Like you might accidentally open this software and accidentally drag/drop functions you didn't really mean to change. Best to leave it locked, for your own good. -You want to change profiles? Oh, sure you can do that. Until you navigate away from G-hub and then it "helps" by auto-changing the profile back to Default! No worries, our marketing team has your back. I mean, they are gaming experts! You should SEE their score on Candy Crush! -You still want to change profiles? Why? I mean, we auto-detect the application for you! Spent a lot of money on that, choom. Why you wanna mess that up? -Want to sync your gaming profiles across two computers? Yeah, we know you tied your G-hub software to your logitech account and thanks so much for that data pipe from your computer to the cloud, but really, our marketing department NEEDS that so they can gather data from your system. You know, to uh... track performance and issues and stuff. We're afraid there just isn't the bandwidth to move your settings to the cloud and over to a whole other device. Sorries, but like we said, our software auto-detects and auto-sets the prefect settinz 4 U! We are soo accurat, and xcelnt qualitee! Promize! So the G-hub software is crap designed by idiots, but don't listen to me. I only have a BA in Computer Science and 24 years experience working in IT, and played video games since Dungeons of Daggorath on the TRS-80. But be my guest and google "Manual for G HUB?" for yourself. Do yourself a favor - buy 3 mice for this price and throw the two worst ones away. You will STILL be money ahead, and have a way better experience. At least until Logitech hires an actual software interface designer.

G502 HERO but less wires. Weight (or lack thereof) could be a pro/con
Fantastic mouse that cleaned up my setup while keeping the in-hand familiarity of the wired G502 HERO, shape and free spinning scroll wheel and all. Battery life is very long subject to personal usage differences of course, I plug it in when the battery indicator turns red maybe for a few hours and it's back up to full and that's maybe one a week or so with moderate to heavy usage. Wireless performance is fantastic, no issues there. The weight of the mouse is *very* light, that can either be a pro or a con: If you want something you can move effortlessly for high speed gaming performance you'll love it. If you're like me and likes a weighted sturdy mouse, and used the G502 HERO with all of the weights installed, you might not be happy. However, there are 3rd party weights you can buy here on Amazon that seamlessly integrate into the magnetic lid underneath for the dongle storage. With one of those installed it's no longer flying off of my keyboard tray and it's just as comfortable as the old version without the limits and mess of a wire.

Excellent wireless mouse for gaming
I got this when it was on sale and boy oh boy I LOVE using this mouse for playing games! Very accurate, no lags whatsoever, easy to configure using the desktop app of Logitech. The rgb lights are just perfect adding accent to the mouse’s design - I hate too much lights in the mouse as if it becomes like a christmas light. It has on and off switch but it does go auto sleep if you left it on so another plus to that feature! Charging takes a bit but faster than other wireless mouse. Battery life is great (would last for more than a week playing games a couple hours a day) I have big hands and mouse felt nicely (not too small and not big either) Only comment I will add is that I don’t think it was worth the full price but if you see it go on sale for like 25% or more, heck yeah add to cart and checkout right away!!!

Nice mouse
Accurate nice size for a palm grip especially for bigger hands, notice the button under the scroll wheel to switch the wheel's rigidity. The infinite scroll thing is a gimmick. Overall great mouse for gaming or productivity, I wish it had a bluetooth + wireless dongle option.
