When asked recently for the most memorable moment of his career, Phil Everly replied the Albert Hall reunion . It wasSeptember 1983 - ten years on from one of the most acrimonious splits in popular music history- when the EverlyBrothers, Don and Phil, took to the stage at London s Royal Albert Hall. One of the most successful duos of all time, theEverlys had dominated the charts in the late fifties and early to mid sixties. Their close harmony singing, acoustic guitars andbrilliant songwriting had become instantly recognizable and inspired millions of fans worldwide. On an emotional night inLondon, the reunion was an unqualified success and led to the renewal of their partnership on an ongoing basis and many moreyears of success, which continue to this day.1) Entrance 2) Claudette 3) Walk Right Back 4) Crying In the Rain 5) Cathy s Clown 6) Love IsStrange 7) Medley: Take A Message To Mary / Maybe Tomorrow 8) I Wonder If I Care As Much 9) When Will I Be Loved10) Bird Dog 11) Be-Bop-A-Lula 12) Barbara Allen 13) Put My Little Shoes Away 14) Long Time Gone 15) Step It Up And Go16) Bye Bye Love 17) Wake Up Little Susie 18) Medley: Devoted To You / Ebony Eyes / Love Hurts 19) ( Til) I Kissed You20) All I Have To Do Is Dream 21) Temptation 22) Lucille 23) Let It Be Me

Magical!
With the recent passing of Phil Everly, I just had to get my hands on this DVD and I had to wait five weeks for it because of an apparent run on the understandably short supply of copies.I had the audio cassette in the 80s and liked to listen to it in my car. After almost 30 years of not hearing their voices, this DVD is pure magic. The sound is great, their more mature voices missing some of that 50s country twang and the chemistry between them is obviously real despite the ten years of acrimony. You can't fake the look of love you see in this concert. The show begins with Roy Orbison's Claudette and ends with an incredible take on Let It Be Me. In between is a pretty comprehensive set list which, unfortunately for me, omits one of my faves, So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad). Oh, well...The brothers stand somewhat sideways at a double mic supported by a single stand with their familiar white-edged black acoustic guitars. Behind them is an excellent five-piece backing band. There are frequent standing ovations but no encores. The Rock 'n Roll Odyssey doc is disappointing if you are looking for a good comprehensive documentary, but I expected as much and didn't care. The color and sharpness of the ageing video is also less than stellar. Nevertheless, just watching the concert was wonderful for me and I recommend it highly .

Five more songs on this DVD
I had already purchased the 65 minutes DVD of the EBs reunion concert. Then I found out that, not only did this DVD feature five more songs, but also a bonus film called "Rock and Roll Odyssey." Not only that, this DVD cost about 1/2 of what the shorter one did. Glad I made both purchases. The Everly Brothers never disappoint me.

Superb Live Concert
I saw this video on You Tube and knew I had to have it. It's probably the best video I've seen of them and they performed remarkably great. Both in their mid 40's at the time of the concert their voices still sound to me as they always did. I've watched it several times already and the extra footage gives you more insight of them and their travels. It was good to see them back together as I hadn't heard anything about them since their breakup in 1973. I was greatly saddened to learn recently of Phil passing away. I remember the Everly Brothers well from the late 50's and 60's and they were a great part of my growing up.If you remember the Everly Brothers or just want to listen to the best harmony in a duo this is it. I've read that had it not been for the Everly Brothers there wouldn't have been a Simon and Garfunkle, Beetles, and others. They set the stage for all who followed them and it's sad to see this legacy gone but for the memories.

The Everly Brothers Reunion Concert at the Royal Albert Hall, on September 14, 1983
The Everly Brothers were always my favorites, from the days of Cadence then Warner Brothers Records. I used to listen to them on the radio over an international broadcast called "Your Make Believe Ballroom", during my teenage years in the late fifties early sixties, in my hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.I had the chance of watching them live at the Universal Studios Amphitheatre in Los Angeles in 1994. I couldn't help the tears rolling down my face as listening to them bring back good memories with their hits.Funny thing, it happened once again last night, while watching the Reunion Concert at the Royal Albert Hall DVD I received thanks to Amazon.com. Extraordinary harmony. I was moved, mainly because Phil Everly recently died - last January 3. While watching them in concert, I also realized that the joint duo singing and harmonizing since the beginning was used by later rock'n'roll British groups, such as The Beatles. Simply watch a Beatles concert with Paul and George using together the same mike, exactly like Don and Phil did years before.

One of The Best Concerts of All Time!
I would have given this 10 stars, but you can only give five. This concert is pure magic. Perfect harmonies. Wonderful songs and memories. I'm a professional drummer, and grew up hearing their songs. I was an average fan then, definitely respecting and enjoying their catchy songs. After hearing how amazing they performed at this concert, I'm literally moved to tears. Their voices are flawless, and the innocent beauty of their harmonies and lyrics are wonderful to hear, while also being heartbreaking when one compares much of what rock has turned into. Much rock today is about volume, mean attitude, and bizarre appearance. This concert is like a breath of fresh air. Pure, beautiful, timeless, and performed by two very humble, appreciative singers, whose singing together has been refined over a lifetime. The extra footage about their history is worth the price alone. Buy this one. It's a true piece of Americana, and SO enjoyable. The crowd was immensely moved with each song. So was I.

Very,very good, but...
This is a good recording of the Albert Hall Concert, but let's face it, they aren't the duo they were when they cut most of these songs. Yes, they still sound great but no rock artist can perform in later life like they did in their teens and the Everlys are no exception. If you didn't rock to their music as a teenager when they were a top ten group you probably won't hear the difference. If you are younger than 70, get the album. If like me, you are an old codger then dig out what you already have because it never gets better than those early years. If you are an archivist, by all means by this DVD because this is an outstanding concert performance.

A terrific buy by the finest harmony duo.
After - or rather between their strained relationship - Don and Phil came up with this quite remarkable concert, showing all the freshness and genuine feeling of their earliest recordings. Almost all their finest songs are here, though lacking what for me is perhaps their finest song (others will have their favourites) - So Sad. Nevertheless, from Cathy's Clown to Let it be Me, there are over 20 of their finest songs. Sadly, Phil is no longer with us, but their music, which has influenced so many and been recorded by some of the greatest artistes is sure to live on. Quality lasts and the brothers had quality in abundance.

Everly Brothers reunion concert
A Fabulous DVD of the magical Everly Brothers Reunion Concert! This DVD is a must for anyone who loves the Everly Brothers music and is wonderfully shot with intimate close ups of Don and Phil interacting as they performed for the first time in 10 years. The audience was ecstatic and so will you be while watching this terrific performance as the brother sing hit after hit backed by the superb Albert Lee and his colleagues! A bonus is the documentary that accompanies the concert footage but it is the terrific concert that you will be happy to watch again and again! Absolutely fabulous!! I wish there were ten stars to give this excellent DVD

A must for every Everly fan..
This is definitely a must-have for every Everly fan. The first time they performed after their highly publicised estrangement. And it was in London. I always feel emotional at the beginning as they descend at different sides and meet up for a big hug in the middle of the stage. If you don't feel emotional when watching this, you have no heart! A wonderful record of a long-awaited show. Spectacular.

GREAT REUNION CONCERT - GREAT SONGS
The Everly Brothers has one of the most original voices around and they had many hits in the 50s and 60s. I was fortunate enough to see them live in Portsmouth and although the brothers had a period when they were not working together, this reunion concert showed how good they were and how they obviously enjoyed working together again. The quality of the DVD is not up to todays standard, nevertheless it is still very watchable.
