Works well for the job, cheap replacment
Bought this to replace an old hard drive in my cctv system that had stopped recording. For £20 it was worth a shot, works well, does the job. It is a little noisy so if you have it in a room where you deep, then maybe not good, but ours is in a separate room where it doesn’t disturb anyone.

Good kit for referb stock
In the last 4 months I have purchased 14 of these 3Tb drives. 2929Gb real Gb data storage, cache 64Mb (low) 7200rpm. Advise format to GPT and NTFS (default values) unless in a RAID. No good as a main drive (too slow) but good for data storage (files, docs and pics). Work well in a 2 disk RAID 1, (3Gb storage mirrored) 3 disk Raid 5, (3Gb striping + parity) or 2 disk Raid 0 (striping over 2 disks 6Gb) Adding a small rubber washer to mounting screws (made from bike inner tube) reduces vibration noise complained about often here.

Bad Packaging, Good Drive
One of three arrived DOA, doing the typical click of death of a dead drive. Packaged in a bubble mailer with no protection, I'm surprised only one died after being dropped through my mail slot. Otherwise great value for the money. I'd buy more if they had some in stock!

Bargain for the price.
I picked this up as a quick replacement for a failed drive in my CCTV box and so far so good, I was able to format it/initialize it via my box, and it's been running fine since, it's a little noisy but so was the previous drive that was from a major brand so no big deal.Was a little hesitant at first but for the price you get reasonable capacity and a reasonable read/write speed for a mechanical drive, it fit in my CCTV box just like any other HDD, so I feel this was a win and I'd quite likely buy again for non-critical storage.
