Professional Cutter Head
Bought this to replace the metal blade that came with a Hitachi CG40EF(L) because the land was riddled with rocks and hitting one could shatter the blade and break the crankshaft. The head was very easy to attach as the kit had all the adapter heads reqd for fitting to any brushcutter. The head appeared very well made but there was a slight problem with fitting one serrated blade because a spring had been fitted incorrectly at the factory. Easily solved when the head was split open. To fit the serrated blades you just push them into holes provided and the blade is then gripped by cams inside the aluminium head. When the blades wear down then just push the all the way through to release them. This head will also accommodate thinner blades if reqd. This kit comes with hundreds of Techniblades in two sizes (200x6mm/150x7mm). So when you look at the price of all the blades provided then the initial cost of the kit becomes acceptable. It is not clear from the listing just how much you actually get in this container. The blades appear to last quite a long time and as they are so thick (against normal line of 2.5mm) they cut through anything. I would suggest that for normal domestic use the number of blades provided in the kit will outlast any machine its attached to.One small problem is that the plastic round cone provided to streamline the base of the head and allows it to glide over the grass is not very well attached and may fall off in use unless secured correctly.Oregon were very helpful when I phoned as I wanted to use this head on a less powerful Hitachi brushcutter (27cc with 0.9Kw against 1.31Kw of the 40cc one). They stated that you can use this head on a smaller brushcutter but then only use 2 thick techniblades instead of 4 blades. In conclusion - this is a professional piece of kit that cuts through anything (up to about half inch) and should last a very long time.

Amazing
Quite brilliant.I've just weed wacked about 100m of brambles and overgrown shrub in record time plus and I'm still on the same set of blades as what I was when I started, in fact the blades show minimal wear, before this would take a whole spool and a half of Oregon starline strimmer lineAlthough quite expensive to buy initially I can see this saving a heap of money in both time, petrol and cutting line going forward......Wished I'd of found this years ago, I can't recommend it enough. My only minor grumble is the spacer washers provided have too big a tolerance so centralising the head on the brushcutter needs a bit of patience....or you could wrap some tape around the washer to reduce the tolerance, however now its set away we go :)
