This is all great but there's no mention of how many mA/h the battery has? Can anyone inform me?

They used to be 2000mAh 7.4Wh but now they are 1960mAh 7.25Wh, just taken delivery of one. I have 5 batteries and use a VIRB, never had more that 2hrs40min which Garmin say is Typical.

If you are charging from a computers USB port it will depend on its power output I just leave mine on over night, if I charge it from a mains socket about two hours.

Is this compatible with a Garmin Virb Elite?

Yes... this is fitted to my Virb Elite, its the same spec as the original equipment and when charged up correctly lasts for just over three hours.

Is this a genuine garmin battery? i ask as the part number differs from that of garmin 361-00053-00. thanks in advance

It says Garmin on the battery, so probably yes. The original battery with the gps which had failed, was 361-00053-00, made in Korea, finished in China. The replacement I bought (which is what you are asking about) was 361-00053-04, made in China, finished in China. Hope this helps
