A matter of trust deals with Darcy and her old friend Brisana.dealing with Darcy's insecurities and jealousy

This was for my daughter, that do not like to read! But.... she started to read it and she finished the book. I asked her what the book is about and she recap it all so I'm proud that she finished. I will buy her more book from this author.

I found out about these books when my former students wrote me a letter telling me about how they could not put these books down.I wish I would have known about this series when I taught reluctant inner city readers. There are a lot of themes and issues that my students personally dealt with. I know they would love eaten these up! My students had a very hard time relating to stereotypical white characters that were nothing like themselves, I love how these books represent a lot of real things kids deal with and the characters themselves represented African American kids- which many young adult books don't. It is very relatable. I related to Darcy when she starts meeting with her dad for the first time. I, myself, had the awkward experience of being a teen rebuilding a relationship with a formerly absentee dad and it was described spot-on.The writing is a little cheesy- but young adult often is.

These are great books! I really enjoyed reading them in high school and still do now. Not very long but insightful.

Good read. Had me on the edge of my seat. I’m buying the next book to the Bluford High Series.

I love the whole series of these books . My favorite since middle school.

I like how it shows that there’s always hope and you can come out of a dark place if you keep trying to do better

I got this book series! So far been loving the books! All my friends read these in high school and had great things to say about it. So I purchased and never regretted since!

小学校以来、DarcyとBrisanaは親友でしたが、高校に入ってDarcyは科学のプロジェクトでペアを組まされたことがきっかけで、あまり成績の良くないTarahやそのボーイフレンドのCooper達とも付き合うようになります。勉強は苦手でも、思いやりや正義感のある人間性に触れたからです。しかし、Brisanaは彼等を「負け組」と見下し、彼等と付き合うDarcyとは仲違いします。　Darcyは高校入学以来秘かに憧れていたHakeemと親しくなりましたが、祖母の世話でデートもままなりません。そんなときBrisanaはHakeemとデートしたことを自慢し始めます。Hakeemにとって自分はどの程度のものなのか思い悩みます。そして最近母と縒りを戻したがっている父親のことを素直に許せない自分にも．．．　小学校5〜6年生レベルの英語で書かれた高校青春学園もので、英語レベルに較べて登場人物の年齢が高いので、児童書よりも楽しく読むことが出来ます。
