VenustasMen's Fleece Heated Vest with Battery, Lightweight Insulated Electric Vest

Based on overall reviews, ordered one for my wife and one for myself to use while riding our bikes. They arrived well packaged. Came with a nice little weatherproof storage bag. Easy to set up and use. I'm 5'6, 165 and the medium fit nicely. Just did our initial field test, a 2-hour ride, that started out with temperatures in the upper 40's. They both worked as we had hoped. Kept our core warm and the heated collar was great. Can easily see using them for other outdoor activities.

The only bad thing I can say is I was disappointed after reading about USB connectivity and type C charging port to discover that the connection cord from the jacket to the power bank is is 3.5mm, like a laptop. Which means you have to use their power bank. They include one so not that big of a deal, although I've been looking at a heated jacket for a while to wear while I umpire softball and their power bank will not last an entire tournament and while I can generally recharge it between days, during the day not so much. If it finally gets to 32 degrees as you finish for the day, their power bank isn't going to make it the entire day. Granted I'm sure there's some liability there for minimum power required etc.However, the other issue Ive found is that this connection does not stay connected we'll. So if you're moving around much it tends to come loose which is not so great. A standard USB connection would've been better IMO. Yes, it would've required a cap due to water issue for washing, but there are work arounds for that. I have USB memory sticks that handle water.The jacket itself is fantastic. I wore it during an outdoor concert I was playing and it was warm enough that I actually never connected it to the power bank, never turned it on. I was almost to warm in it.I believe the zipper is compatible with my big jacket that has a removable fleece lining.I find the button to be a bit awkward and requires placing my thumb underneath it when I press it opposed to just pressing it. However since it's a vest that's not a big deal as I can just slip my thumb in behind the button from the arm hole.The fitting of the jacket is slightly odd. I ordered one size up and am very glad I did. The chest area is a bit lose, but by the time anything is placed in the pockets, including the power bank, I wouldn't want the bottom half any tighter though according to size chart the XL would fit me better across the midsection. I definitely wouldn't be able to also put my hands on the pockets if I had ordered the XL.Overall this is totally worth the money. Whether the full price or on sale. The power bank itself will run you on average $30 (20-50 depending on your preferred online vender, min 50 but often closer to 75 in a brick and motor store) subtract that from the cost when considering the cost of the jacket.The one draw back is fleece and dogs do not much go together, and it's black with tan and white dogs at our house. However, that is a personal thing and I don't think I'd be happy with the nylon style jacket either.

I like this heated vest! For me it does not get warm enough, but the fleece does help keep the torso warm.

Update. 11/14. It did it's job. Riding down the 60. It was 45 outside. It was cold. My feet and hands were cold. But my middle body. Stayed warm and comfortable through my 2 hour ride. For the cons now. 1) It died an hour and a half after my start. I will test with accurate timing next time. 2) it takes close takes hours to charge from 0% to 100% there is no way you can let it charge for an hour or two and expect to get 15%. 3) it's a RC port. I 100% understand that it's best because it allows the cord not get bent and it moves freely. But this does put a big hole in I might not get another one after this one breaks. Just because it's a RC port. I can't just pop any battery on it. Also it being a RC port. Makes it very hard to find a portable battery since no one really uses RC ports now. If you change to C type. I'll be buying one after another once they completely break.Over all 4 stars. It's comfortable. It gets pretty warm. As a stand alone with no power It still keeps you warm. It's stylish. It fit perfect. Change to a C type. You'll have a repeating customer.I just got the vest. The purpose of me getting this vest. are for 2 reasons. 1) for work. CA is currently cold. 2) for when I ride I don't freeze at night.I am not sure if I'm that cold or if it doesn't get that hot. I am currently 20 minutes in and I don't feel much of a difference. I can feel myself getting warm. But not at the level and speed I was hoping for. I put my jacket over the vest and I did feel a bigger difference because of the insulation. But as a stand alone. I'm still a little iffy. I'll update Monday. I'm taking my first 200 straight mile trip this weekend. I'll update my review on the vest than.No I didn't ride with the vest alone. I am currently testing it around the house and standing outside. I want to give it a fair chance and review on the vest. I 100% understand I won't get the sun in a vest. I'm just trying to stay realistic warm at night.

What I liked was the expediency in the delivery, cost, and excellent fit and stylish heated vest. Two thumbs up. Thank you.

—-update—- the vendor contacted me and shipping me a new one! Anne is very helpful and attentive.. pleasantly surprised with the customer service level from the vendor.I bought the venustas heating vest for my boyfriend as recommended by my friend who is very satisfied with this. Unfortunately, I guess something is not right.I charged it for 6 hours as recommended initially (note that the battery was already at 72 when I plugged it) and now I put it on and it does not flash at all, becomes red right away. The heat is not everywhere and barely heats up. My friend said that at the red level, it should be really hot, now it's like it's very low and not even all where it should be. The battery went from 100 to 50 in not even one hour.I am very sad because it's still a very good amount that I paid and I wanted this one because it does heat on the shoulders. My friend says to call customer service because there is a defect with the product, not normal. Hers becomes very hot at red and the battery does not go down that fast. The fact that it does not flash is also not good, it's written in the booklet to contact customer service when not flashing.I did send an email to the company, but no one responded. I saw reviews that said that the vendor contacted them right away. I really wanted this vest for my boyfriend. Hopefully someone will contact me.

This product is excellent. Yes there are less expensive ones but in this case, you get what you pay for. It feels comfortable and well made. It has kept me warm in this Canadian winter. I am 5'7"; 155 lb…the Medium fits perfectly I tend to get cold easily but this allows me to get out for long periods and enjoy our winter.I have had no issues as I see in other reviews with the battery.Even the packaging was impressive.The instructions are clear (and not printed with a small font which is difficult to read). And even is laminated.It’s evident that the company cares about the product. There’s many notices of the return policy and warranty with a direct line to the company if there’s any issues. And I received an email to that effect directly from the company.As you can guess, I highly recommend this product.

Actual heating area as seen through a very expensive thermal imager. White is shown as hot. Ie white wires or lighter grey areas are warmish. First two are the garment inside out. The actual coverage area is misleading. As I am sure it is with most of these garments. The bright red is not the actual area that gets heated. Buyer beware. This was purchased for an experiment so was expecting these poor results.

I bought this product a couple months ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Advertised as promised. I ran into an issue where the battery was no issue but for some reason the vest was not taking the charge. When I contacted Venustas they shipped me a new vest and battery as compensation. No problems since. I have nothing but the greatest respect for the company since they shipped me a new vest and battery free of charge. Thats what you call customer service! I would recommend Venustas simply because 1 they re productdelivers as advertises. 2 and most importantly if for some reason there is any issues they accomodate you. The company reached out to us, replaced the battery free of charge, we received the replacement within days, it was so quick. We were so pleased that they sent us an updated battery it’s lightweight and works amazing. It will be well used. Now that they reached out and replaced it for us, we will continue to use this company in the future. Mandy was wonderful with emails, thank you again.
