Hamilton Beach Scoop single serve coffee maker
I purchased this coffee maker after owning the stainless steel version. This was less expensive but works pretty much the same. I like the fact that you put the amount of water in for the size cup you want instead of relying on the machine to get it right. I say this because of previous experience with much more expensive machines that never worked properly. The more expensive machines didn’t hold up well either. You can use any coffee you want without spending a lot on K-cups. The coffee is always hot and brewed perfectly. It has a coffee strainer basket and a secondary mesh filter and both must be rinsed between each cup to prevent a backup that might cause it to run over, a simple easy process. It shuts off automatically after each use. It will also shut off if you forget to put water in it. It has cup trays on two levels, one to accommodate a tall cup then one that folds out at a higher level for a small cup to prevent splashing. This is a well designed inexpensive single serve coffee maker. It’s attractive enough and fits anywhere. You get a great cup of coffee every time. Note; I don’t just scoop with the strainer, I measure with a tablespoon for consistent strength and flavor. You don’t want to dip the wet scoop in your ground coffee after you rinse it anyway.

Single cup coffee maker
The first one worked so well and for a few years that when it burned out I purchased this second one. I have a lot of calcium in my water which is not good for any coffee maker that is electric. The first one gave me great value for the money I spent. Expecting the same from this new one. Very easy to use and makes a good cup of coffee.

Worked great but failed within 6 months. Would not recommend.
I'm giving this coffee maker one star because even though I liked it at first it hasn't even lasted 6 months! The seal around the area that holds the coffee grounds has failed. I've tried to repair it several times but it keeps making a mess everywhere. I don't have time to deal with this to try to further fix it. I'm very disappointed. It's going in the trash right now.

Good but produces a lot of stream
It works fine. Each cup you make you need to refill the water, but hey, it's NBD. My issue is it kicks off a lot of stream which if it's under your counter, will Causer a ton of condensation.

No more waste!
Convenient like a Kuerig but without the waste. The grounds go into the garden and no coffee filters. Good quality coffee.

makes good coffee but has a few minor issues I think .
I got the white one so some coffee invariably drips on the cup rest every time and requires cleaning it every time which is a little tedious . And the button to turn the machine on is too easy to hit by mistake before you are ready, so you have to unplug it to get it to stop trying to percolate too early . The little cup that you put the ground coffee in is pretty small in diameter so it is hard not to spill them , so I cut a plastic funnel to put in the top of the cup to help with that process so I don't have to clean up the countertop every time i make coffee. Other than than that it does make good coffee . I bought this brand and a similar model because I had one like it before that lasted for years until the on button started acting up so I gave it to a neighbor .

My New Coffee Maker
I love it! It is made just for me. It is easy to clean and it brews me a cup immediately. It isn't noisy, looks nice; it is not heavy , and it is easy to operate. I don't know what functionality is but it functions well and I hope it lasts me about 6 to 5 years. There is no need to use paper filters because the scoop where the grains go in has aa mesh and the other where this scoop goes in has also a mesh which will not let any grains go into the cup of coffee. Also, I like the two sizes for cups of coffee and the platforms. That is really neat!

So far so great!!
2nd edit: XMCOSOCS single serve coffee filters are ‘sometimes sold together’. They seem small. Do they work. Rufus doesn’t know and there’s no way to get any kind of response from Hamilton Beach. No answer to my emails about replacing a filter my cat chewed up, or paper filters to line it. Help! Edit: no parts available for this product. I followed the trail and apparently if you need something you have to buy a new machine. Our cat thought our filter was a chew toy. We won’t bother with Hamilton Beach anything anymore. My husband has been using a 12 cup just for himself for years. He finally started drinking less and throwing a lot out. He recently visited his cousin. They have a Keurig and he fell in love with the idea. I wasn’t crazy about the $$$ but as I searched I discovered single serve coffee makers can have a reasonable $. I ordered two. A habit of mine when I really don’t know what I want. Being single serve he was able to try them together since he he typically drinks three cups a day. The other brand wasn’t hot enough. This one is perfect. There are reviews not liking the splash. I consider it minor. It’s pretty much at the top of the back and of course there are always drips after you pull the cup out just like a large coffee pot. I don’t mind doing a quick wipe of the back, and the drip plate comes out and it’s very easy to wipe out. I’m grateful to have more counter space. It’s very easy to move around. I much prefer white appliances in the kitchen. It’s much brighter and appears more spacious. He’s very happy that his coffee has that strong Louisiana flavor. Community Coffee. I call it his Cajun coffee. Far too strong for me!! One extremely important factor about this sweet little machine is that it come with a permanent double filter. (The 2nd one catches any extra grounds, though that hasn’t happened. Put them out, empty the grounds, rinse. We have a drain strainer that catches everything so no grounds go down the sink. NO PLASTIC GOING LANDFILLS! You recycle? Great. But do you know how much energy recycling requires? There are machines with more bells and whistles but this one is perfect for my husband. It always pays to have a happy Honey.

Bought this to replace a much fancier all in one name brand that bit the dust by extravagantly breaking apart while spinning its pod. Let's be honest - this is not the fanciest coffee maker on the market. It takes a couple of minutes to brew, sure - but honestly, for the price and the freedom of having a simple mesh basket to use your own grinds, the value for money is absolutely there. Note that it doesn't force water through like a pod system, but is more like a miniaturized coffee maker - not quite as slow as a drip, but it's the same type of brewing, just into a smaller basket. Initially I felt disappointed by the simplicity of this coffee maker, but once I got over myself and realized all I was really missing was marketing and sunk costs from the usual fancy pod systems, I've grown to love this little thing. It makes a good cup of coffee. I find I get the best results with somewhere finer than a medium grind - I'd say a fine(ish) grind level. Really the only (small) sticking point I have is that it has no water reservoir, so you have to fill every time you use it. I can't fault it for that either though, as this means it takes up much less counter space. If you can't justify making a pot a day, this should be all you need. Not to mention that you really get bang for your buck with using your own coffee without having to mess with 3rd party pod adapters or anything like that. I had a 950g tin of coffee last 2.5months using this once daily. This would honestly make a great gift for a student coffee drinker living in a dorm.

Easy to use - no pods to dispose of or recycle.

Hands down the worst coffee machine I've ever encountered!! Hamilton Beach what were you thinking! I owned your stainless steel machine for 10 years (THE BEST COFFEE EVER) until it died last week. So I bought this one..thinking its the same machine only in white.I WAS WRONG! Not only did it spit and blow hot water everywhere(Which took 3 to 5 minutes)..NONE OF IT WAS IN THE CUP!! Fustration at 4 am is not my idea of a great way to start the day!!!Don't get me started on your placement of start brew buttons!! Throw this model out and stick to the tried and true stainless steel model. It works..This one BITES THE BIG ONE!!

This simple machine makes a hot cup of coffee in no time. I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob but I feel that with a quality coffee, fresh fine grind, the temperature of the water is ideal. I did purchase the paper filters.
