Boldly coloured and attention grabbing
Still remember the first time I read this book with my youngest son. He was only a year old boy he loved the bold colours and engaging pictures. It was a favourite book of his until he was three or four! Which felt like a good shelf life. The story is great too, and I love the ending. It's good to open up discussions about what they'd do in George's place and what they actually should do in George's place! Hope that's not a spoiler...

Great story, high contrast illustrations
I love the humour in Chris Haughton's books, and Oh No George is great, even after the 10th read. The high contrast illustrations make it good for very young children, while toddlers will enjoy the story and saying whether they think George will be naughty or good. A really entertaining read.

Pictures a little dated but repetitive story line is great
I bought this on the strength of the recommendations for my two year old granddaughter who loves books. At first, she just didn't engage with this one and I think it was because the illustrations are very retro and impressionistic. These days there are just so many books with flaps, sounds, fabulous cartoons, etc. that I think she found it underwhelming compared to all the others in her book pile. But I have edited this review because after a few repetitions, the simple story, with its punch line, hooked her and it became a favourite.

Excellent fun book that kids love. George!!!
My 18 month old daughter loves this book and I enjoy reading it to her too. At first I found the illustrations a little basic, I wasn't too keen on the computer generated graphic feel of it, but it's grown on me and the pictures and story work really well together...and there's no denying George has personality! It's a good one for a good reader, as you can really make it pop with voices and timing. Also it's a nice fairly short book, not too text heavy. I love that my daughter, who doesn't have many words, will very seriously say 'Oh No, cake!' when she sees the cake because she knows George is going to eat it. Also love how she laughs at the last page every single time, I've not seen any other books make her laugh like that. Recently went on holiday with friends with children and this was hit with all of them when we did the bedtime story together. Definitely worth owning this one.

George said he'd be good and he wants to be good
George said he'd be good and he wants to be good, but being good is tricky when there are so many fun temptations to be found when you're alone in the house...George is like a toddler who's been left alone in a room for five minutes while you try to make a cup of tea/put the washing on/brush your hair/hide and eat a biscuit. He means well, but temptation keeps getting the best of him and before he knows it, the whole house is a mess!We bought Oh No, George! on the strength of Shh! We Have a Plan and I'm sure it won't be the last Chris Haughton book we read together. The art work is so distinctive and the repetition in the text is great for getting little ones involved in 'reading' the story; Oh No, George! is full of questions which you can discuss with your little ones, getting them to guess/remember what happens next.

This book is genius!
Colourful illustrations, quirky characters, moral dilemmas and ends on a cliffhanger. ( ... George??!) What more could you ask for?Have read this over and over and kids feel drawn into George's naughtiness, his having to say sorry, and then ... well ... what does he do next? Always a good discussion at the end. Highly recommend for kids aged 2,3,4

Tail-wagging wisdom
Chris Haughton's 'Oh No, George!' is a delightful journey into the world of a charmingly impulsive dog. The colorful illustrations and engaging storyline make it an instant hit with young readers. This book not only entertains but also subtly introduces the concept of responsibility and the consequences of our actions. As a parent, I find it to be a wonderful tool for initiating conversations about making good choices and the importance of accountability. 'Oh No, George!' is a playful and valuable addition to any children's book collection, offering both laughter and valuable life lessons.🐶🐾🍰
