Gill Race Series Team Backpack (Waterproof)

Overall, this is great. We took it on vacation for a bareboat charter trip. As the family pack mule, I find myself responsible for lugging around everyone elses' crap and this pack makes it relatively easy. It's durable, comfortable, holds a ton of stuff, and does function as advertised. However, I feel like I should reiterate that the front pocket is NOT waterproof. It's great to have a pocket, but any phones, money, etc. that you may feel the need to keep in the front pocket for easy access can and will get wet.

The plan was to keep anything we want to bring dry when we take the dinghy to the beach, snorkeling, short reprovision in town, etc.And it worked great. The large volume, comfy backpack-style is something you won’t find in any other dry sack. Quality of material is important - this needs to stand up to abuse, sand, salt water, being thrown around into the dinghy - and so I expected it would do all of that because it’s from Gill - and I wasn’t disappointed.I even used this as my carry-on. Really happy with it.Now I want the orange one as well 😉

Perfect size for day trips!

Love this backpack! Super comfortable to wear while walking or biking. It can also hold a lot of gear! Perfect for commuting around the city on sailing days and keeping my laptop and other belonging dry while sailing!

I gave this backpack to my brother who sails and he immediately loved it. The size is perfect and while it appears compact it actually holds a great amount of stuff. So far so good.

Ridiculously good bag! I dont sail but i do scubadive, free dive, jet ski, kayak, paddle board and surf, and spend hours drenched on boats. This bag was submerged multiple times and is completely waterproof. The straps dry very quickly. Im amazed with the quality of material used. I've had Gull, Zhik, and Drybag brand bags in the past and the thickness or quality of material used with those bags isn't on par with this product. The bag has been on two trips with me to southeast asia and still looks brand new. I feel safe storing my elecronics and camera gear inside while jet skiing or swimming from boat to boat with it strapped on my back. It also works as a great carry on and fits nicely in the overhead. The style looks much nicer than most dry bags I've seen. The only qualm I have with this bag is that the shoulder straps are fairly short and the backing a little stiffer! The all too common threads I see on all these types of bags do pop up here and there. Overall fantastic product from a company I've never heard of before now.

In the first place, I was considering the brand Ortlieb as I use the backpack mainly for cycling around London but I saw that the price of the Ortlieb Messenger or other bags is considerably higher than the Gill one. Don't take me wrong, Ortlieb is a great brand, but I believe the Gill backpack works as well as the others as there is not much of a difference in terms of layout, a plus for the Gill is that is completely waterproof even if you throw it in the water, I am not sure the Ortlieb zip works the same, as it is made differently.

Stylish and well made. Keeps everything nice and dry and most importantly, easier to carry compared to hold-all style.
