If it weren't for my calves these would have fit perfectly. I bought the medium thinking with everyone saying the waist stretches I would be fine. I'm 5'3" with a 32" waist and 40" hips. What I did not account for were my beefy calves. I could the pants up but could not lace the calves. The tighter part was also cutting off my circulation. If it weren't for that they'd have been absolutely perfect. I returned them and ordered the next size up. Stay tuned. This may get updated to a 5 star if they fit.Edit: Updating to 5 stars because the large definitely is much more comfortable and can lace the calves now.

As others have said, the bottom of these pants (calf/ankle) is very small and the leg length is very long. I wear 36 waist/30 length pants normally and the size 2XL was best for me. I also ordered an XL, which fit around my waist, but the bottom wouldn't fully close around my ankle. With the 2XL, the bottom could close around my ankle. In both cases, the pant length was too long and as you can see in the photo, I folded the bottom up over itself. The 2XL pants were about 7 inches too long for me, but at least they could fit around my ankles. The waist is elastic, so don't worry about getting a bigger size.. get bigger than you think you need. With most clothing that uses small/medium/large sizing, I wear a large, but for these pants, I needed 2XL.

These pants are true to size and actually for very comfortable. They are versatile and could be used a couple of different ways.

Bought these pants as part of a last minute costume for RenFaire with my date. They arrived on time and were not only comfortable but were good looking too! Coupled with a plain white tunic I didn't stand out at all and gave me the perfect foundation to buy a belt, coin bag, and drinking horn at the fair. Very customizable and plain!

These pants are pretty good! They look nice and are a good cheap option for costume pants. However I am very short, 4’10’’ so the pants are way too long. The pants were also tight around my calves so I couldn’t make up for the length by just bunching them up. I decided to hem them and they fit great but just be aware- if you’re short with big calves you might have to hem these!

Great pants, very comfortable and functional! Especially considering the low price. I’m not sure how durable they’d be, but I only plan in wearing them to the local Ren Faire and they should be perfect for that.My only minor complaint is that these pants taper fairly significantly towards the bottom. I originally went with an XL thinking it may be a little big but I could tighten the waist. I am fairly large with a size 38 waist (US men’s), and when I got the XL it was actually fairly snug throughout. The problem was the calves: there is a stitch that goes around the circumference of the calf and has ZERO give to it. On the XL I could barely get the stitch over my ankles, and the stitch is supposed to be about mid- to upper-calf so this made the pants unwearable. I returned them and went for the XXXL (pictured) to be on the safe side, and these were perfect! The laced cuff portion was still too thin to go all the way around my calf/ankle, but I believe this is intentional to show off the lacing.As you can probably tell from the pictures, I’m a rather large guy, and my legs are very thick even for my size. For that reason I’m still giving this five stars, as I’m sure the average Joe would fit these pants well! But yeah, if you’re thicker than a milkshake, I recommend going a couple sizes larger than you think. Keep in mind that the waistline has a draw string, so even if they’re a little big on you they won’t fall down :)

Nice color and seems well made. A bit tight at the lower legs though, right above where the lacing starts. Comfy cotton. Not sheer or stretchy at all, but I don’t think it was meant to be. Not sure why Amazon asks that.

Got these to go to a ren faire in, and they are great! super comfy to wear all day, and didnt chafe or feel uncomfortable after hours of walking.
