10 Minute Solutions NEVER let me down!!
I have been a fan of the 10 minute solution series for a while now!! Today I received the three new ones I have recently ordered - Dance Your Body Thin, Belly Butt and Thigh Blasters and Quick Tummy Toners. I always try to do the whole 50mins to give myself a good workout - so I like to vary things by alternating DVD's on different days.Today it was Dance Your Body Thin - it is split into 5 10 minute sections:Smooth and Sexy MovesDance TonerGet Fit Club MixCardio Dance PartyBallet SculptI started with an open mind - I would do as many of the 10minute sections as I could because obviously I didnt know what to expect. The first section was fun, lots of sexy hip moves but into a simple dance routine. I felt this section was more of a warm up for the rest of the DVD. The second section stepped things up a little, I felt the muscles kick in, starting to burn. The third and fourth sections were really enjoyable, just some funky dance moves, put into a fun routine, I really worked up a sweat. The fifth section - you think is going to be a lovely ballet type cool down and WOW - it hurts haha!! Ballet dancers are tough if this is anything to go by - and these are just the basics!! Involves a lot of balancing, core strength. Incorporates a number of ballet moves - you will be surprised at how much this one hurts the arms/upper body just by holding your arms above your head and out to the side!!As you can see I managed to get through all 5 sections in one sitting, the first time round!! The moves are quite simple, some moves do need some getting use to, coordination in some sections needs a little makeover but overall quite simple to do, enjoyable so you dont wanna switch it off, and I could not believe how sweaty I was afterwards - the back of my hair was wet through!! I felt good afterwards, and no doubt I will feel even better tomorrow (or worse depends on how you look at it).Thank you for all the reviews that helped me choose this DVD you were all spot on!! I love this DVD.Tomorrow I will do Belly, Butt and Thigh Blasters and Friday Quick Tummy Toners...and keep alternating between the three to keep it fun!! Good for beginners but I was expecting much more...
I bought this DVD 3 weeks ago. I wanted something that replaces my usual interval training DVD's ( Hannah Waterman, Jillian Michaels,The Biggest Loser...) in those days that you feel you cannot be bother and would like to have a little bit of fun .The presenter is a little bit more enthusiastic than most 10 minute solution instructors(Susan Bowers or Jessica Smith). If you don't like smiley,chatty (she doesn't stop talking for 2 seconds) american people, this DVD is not for you. It helps me to think that she is so enthusiastic because she wants me to succeed.Music is not an issue for me, because I tend to mute the instructor and play in the stereo my own music.Here, it's an issue. You may think that this, being a dancing workout should be different. You may expect that the 10 Minute Solution brand will do here something, other than playing impersonal music in the background. Well they did not. Music is dull, mostly beginning of the 90's keyboard tunes with no singing (like in any 10 MS DVD)I was expecting more of the routines too. If you are expecting modern dancing steps (Shakira, Lady Gaga) this is not the case. She is lost in the 80's and 90's (Bananarama, Sinita).At this point I have to say I'm a Zumba fan.I love dancing and learning new styles. I find that the sections that should be fun, such as 'Club Mix' or 'Cardio Party' were the less impressive. The Club didn't made me sweat .I give you one example, in the 'Club Mix' you will have to walk in circles while moving you hips and waving your hand like saying good bye or hello!...I felt stupid, and I was expecting more from a professional dancer and teacher like her.In the 'Sexy movements',there is a step called 'Broadway' in which you will walk forward with your chin up,lifting your knees while your arms are not moving along side your body. Boo! my 73 year old mother could came up with that!In the positive side the 'Sexy movements' made me work a sweat and it's great for the core and hips.The 'Toning' routine is excellent.I found very different than most toning DVD's sections with lots of ballet movements and hard work. 'The Ballet inspired' movements section was great too,also for toning without stress while burning calories (I felt like my legs and arms were falling apart)I will recommend this to people of a certain age that are not very fit and don't care much about music.This is the easiest Dancing DVD from the 10 minute series, it is a good idea to give it a try and if is too difficult don't attempt to buy the others.Considering all I don't regret buying this because the 3 sections work for me .They are so good I will keep up with this. I think I should have bought also the 10 MS Hip-Hop Dance Mix or the 10 Minute Solution Fat Blasting Dance Mix.Maybe next time

Highly Recommend for Beginners +
I am not a dancer, but this was fun and easy. In fact, I thought it was so easy it probably wasn't doing me any good as far as being "real" exercise. Two days later I learned how wrong I had been! My abs and obliques definitely let me know they had been worked. I have a new respect for dancers, indeed. No wonder they have such great bodies. The instructor teaches you each small step of choreography and then adds another and another until you have done an entire routine. I exercise 4-6 times a week with purpose. I am over 40 and about as coordinated as a water buffalo, but I enjoyed this dvd. It is a fun worthwhile workout to add to your collection! Oh, the weight belt is a good addition, although it's only 1-2 lbs or so. It is also adjustable. Sometimes I wear it to walk.

Ausgezeichnete DVD
Super geeignet für "mal-eben-bissl-Sport-machen" aber auch für Leute die nicht die Zeit oder Kondition habenum zu einem Tanzkurs/Bodyworkout zu gehen.Am Anfang etwas kompliziert, aber nach dem 2.-3. Mal ist man drin.Wird nicht so schnell langweilig, da es 5 verschiedene Workouts sind. Wenn man es intensiver möchte, kann manauch alle Übungen hintereinander abspielen.Also ich find es super.(Auch sehr gut für alle Salsa-Merengue-chachacha-fansist die DYBT Latin- allerdings etwas komplizierter)

may look a little silly but the moves really work!
this is my very first review!when i first watched this video, the moves looked a bit silly and more jazz oriented than "club mix" or "dance party". however, do the dvds to feel the burn as the choreography seems to really concentrate on getting the most out of each move and focuses on that core (you will feel your abs!) this will probably be the most effective dance video you will own even though you probably will not be taking any of these moves to the club. lol. oh, and the belt does work! I have Andrea's other 10 minute pilates video which is probably my most favorite video! i'm a fan!more videos Andrea!

Gorgeous! Fun!
The instructor, Andrea, is very pleasant to watch and to listen to. The music and choreography is an A+. The music is perfect for each segment and is a great motivator. I enjoy her choreography, it reminds me of showgirl type dancing. Not too many steps like Petra Kolber's. Lots of hip and core movements to take advantage of the weighted belt, which is not too heavy-it's always an option. This type of dance is in my rotation of 10 Minute Solutions and one of my favorite cardio workouts, plus it helps me with my coordination and memory.
