Great value for a lightweight and compact router for wood working. The Ryobi router works with the Ryobi 18v One+ rechargable batteries. The router has a fixed base and 20,000 to 30,000 rpm speed. The tool is ergonomic and easy to use with one hand.

It does exactly what I wanted - routing, in a compact and portable form factor. I put a CNC milling bit in it and can carve stopcuts, no problem.For shallower cuts I need to recess the bit more than I'd like, but that is kind of beyond the design spec of the device in any case so I can't really complain. it was built to route, and I am using it as a freehand carving tool with far shallower depths than any non-CNC router would be expected to produce.

A small wonder - wasn't expecting A+ quality because it's my 3rd string router. We'll - a very pleasant surprise of the quality and thoughtful design. Sucks down battery power but easy to manage

So this is a handy little router. The chuck on it is solid. The grip is alittle awkward but I feel like if you get the plunge grip it would fix that but the lock that comes on it to adjust depth isn’t the greatest. I set a depth I wanted and I started cutting and then it just dropped all the way down. I had to tighten the lock as tight as it could go and every now and then it gets loose. Also the way the grip is sometimes you hit the release for the depth lock. So I would recommend this tool but if you get a plunge grip attachment.

Easy to adjust depth, does not weigh much, feels good in the hand. Will probably ditch the corded trim router.

This week I received this Ryobi PCL424 from a 3rd party company that I ordered through Amazon. I was/am quite impressed with the 'Thank you' / 'Welcome' letter' included in the box...with the owner's name, cell number, and personal email address in the letter! GREAT job!!! Very nice touch!I normally buy all my Ryobi products from an online competitor. I don’t mind and have had success with buying Ryobi ‘Factory Reconditioned,’ or ‘Factory Blemished’ products in the past. However, lately, before I pull the trigger on a purchase, I started comparing prices on the net and found that in a couple of instances I was able to buy ‘New’ Ryobi products at comparable pricing elsewhere, hence this order.In one instance I ‘assumed’ I was buying a new product, but it too was not in a Ryobi factory sealed box, it was in a brown box which indicted to me it’s certainly not new. In this instance I searched all over the Amazon description and was unable to determine new or used, so I took the chance. To my great satisfaction it appeared to be new.I’ve not used it, but I’m sure it’ll be fine as I've had great success with all other Ryobi products.Everyone needs to support small businesses like this 3rd party seller that absolutely GETS IT!
