Even better than 09
This is a great game and if you like 09 then I seriouly recommend buying it. On the hole the gameplay is fairly similar to 09 however there are some nice improvements. Dribbling has been made mor realistic and shooting is slightly more difficult. Manager mode has been improved nicely as the buying.selling system has become more realistic. However, I am disappointed that they claimed that the results in a season would be more realistic (e.g the big four all doing well) but this hasn't seemed to have happened as currently in my season only 1 of the big 4 is in the top 4. Apart from that the game is great, it lives up to expectations and is truly worth the investment.

The beautiful game just got better !!!
Best ever FIFA to date.....2010 version out does 09 Does the business on the pitch and knocks out Pro Evo in the first round! Enough to keep you entertained for the whole season and the fluid online play makes playing with your friends an absolute joy. All teams and player names are present and correct together with all the correct strips etc...having the License makes all the difference and creates a highly polished package. If you like your footie you'll love this.

oxymoron game which'll make you sad
Ok, obviously this game is for the 360, and you can get fifa 19 and all other previous games down to fifa 06 for the 360, so my review takes this into account. This is important too as the later games aren't categorically better than this game. So lets start with what this game doesn't do well, as it is a much, much shorter list. First, the difficulty. Considering how long fifa has had to try and perfect this I'm genuinely confused as to how the difficulty in all fifa games is so terrible. You might think it's just me, but I've played quite a few fifa games, for quite some time, so this seems unlikely. The problem in this game however is it's too hard. You might say git good or something, but these games should cater for everyone. And in fifa 16 and 17 on amateur, not beginner I win every match 5 nill or more. In this game I'm lucky to get a draw on amateur. What's more is the overall gameplay feels a lot inferior to later fifa games, I seem to spent most of my time mid field constantly getting tackled, then tackling etc. Maybe that's more realistic, but this is a game, and realism doesn't always equal fun. In comparison later fifa games are more action packed with it easier to get up feeled, but also easier for the enemy(xd) to get upfield too. So overall the gameplay is something in my opinion that has definitely improved over the years. Also I'm visually impared, and in fifa 16 and later you can turn a ring on around your player which makes seeing them really easy, not in this game though. Next is transfers. I've seen a lot of people complaining that transfers in fifa games are too easy, presumably those people hate fun and don't understand this is a game. Personally my favourite transfer system is the 16-17 system(might've been in earlier games too), as it has the best mix of realism, conveniance, simpleness and fun. The transfer system in fifa 18 in my opinion just doesn't work for anyone who doesn't worship football and spend every waking minute studying it. And finally this games transfer system. It does one thing better than 16-18's system, which is that all player's current budget is listed, both salary and transfer fee. This makes it easier to place an initial bid. Also again it make it easier, but that doesn't automatically make it less fun, plus it's more realistic in my opinion rather than just guessing 20 times in a row. Oh and on that front there's the catch. You get two attempts to sign them, not unlimited like in later games, which is more realistic, I don't know how players aren't sick after me incorrectly guessing their demands for the 20th time in fifa 16-18, I certainly am. Also like fifa 18 not all players are able to be signed, unlike fifa 18's terrible system, this one actually works. Only players that are actually up for transfer are listed, and the number of players available is pretty damn small, but still larger than 18's amount, not that that is anything to brag about. Then there's selling players of course. This is inferior to later games unfortunately, you can accept or reject an offer, no renogotiating offers. Oh yeah and when searching for players in the transfer market there overall is shown unlike current fifa games. Again if your like me and want things easy you'll like it, if you are obsessed with realism you'll likely hate it and think it makes things too easy. Though altough not a number as such, there are lots of sources ranking players, including the guardian's list, so personally I don't think it's too unrealistic...maybe it's be better to give a range instead of the specific number? A nice comparise? Then there's the settings, which are utterly baron compared to later games, though a lot of the settings really don't need changing, but options like injury rate etc are not here. So that's the bad, but now lets get to the good. First off, people say fifa doesn't change enough...Ever heard the prase careful what you wish for? Well good because here's one change that makes no damn sense and if put back into current games would instantly make them 1,000 times better. And that is that in fifa 10 career mode you actually feel like you are in control unlike later games. You can pick a sponsor, upgrade your team, including putting money into the stadium and it just adds realism and a great feeling that this is your club, and you run it. As for the different layout, well it's a lot different to current fifa games. Whether or not thats better or worse is up to you, it's certainly not objectivley better or worse, personally I'm undecided. Apart from that there's just a few changes here and there. Instead of the Arsenal striker who played for Engaland comentating(I'm not a footie nerd, sue me xd) you have a Scottish guy named Alan. Personally I prefer Mr scottish guy, but again, it comes down to personal preference. Then the challenges before mataches seen in later fifa games are gone. Instead you have the arena, where you control a player(who is selectable) and can practise scoring goals, or whatever else you fancy. Agaian, personal preference, but I prefer this one in fifa 10 as it gives me so much nostalgia I think I might just OD on it xd. Then there's the crowd. I mentioned in my review for fifa 7 I much prefered it to current fifa crowds. I don't know if it has changed, but to me the crowd in 10 doesn't sound as good as 7 but sounds quite a bit better than cureent games still. So yeah, that's about it. Overall if you're a skilled player this game is perfect, as fifa 11's carrer mode scraps a lot of 10's career features such as sponsors. The sound of the crowd is better in this game than later games, the graphics have aged well and overall the only reason this game isn't perfect for me is the difficulty, and transfers still geared more towards realism and being challenging rather than being fun.

Could Have Been Great
I got addicted to the combination of simple team management and playing the matches, but away from the on-pitch gameplay it was truly the most bug-infested game I've ever encountered. The game would often freeze the Xbox as a match finished, with no option but to reset the machine and lose progress. Many hours were spent fiddling with the Xbox cache, downloading patches or trying to diagnose whether a button press at a certain time was causing the lock-up. Like returning to the days of the Commodore 64 with all the inconvenience and none of the nostalgia. Very frustrating, I enjoyed it and loathed it in equal measure, eventually selling it when my patience ran out.
