Extremely easy to fit, does exactly what it is meant to.
This window restrictor is perfect, not the most exciting product but great quality. It was an absolute breeze to put up, the supplied screws are excellent and screwed straight into my uPVC window frames without any pilot holes required. It is the right size for restriction, doesn't open too much and is very strong indeed, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for an attractive (for what it is) product at a good price that is simple to fit.

Pleased with these.. but word of caution..
2013-10 : Bought 11 of these as live in first floor flat with a toddler running around, so was pleased to get them for less than £100. Found them pretty easy to fit and they do the job they are meant to. All good2015-06 : Update - possible safety issue - found one of the 11 locks I purchased can no longer be opened as can't fully insert the key into the lock. Obvious safety issue as would not be able to quickly open window to escape in event of fire etc. I've now replaced it with a new one (same model) as overall still happy with the product, but take home message for me is to periodically make sure you can unlock these because you don't want to find out you can't during an emergency.

Spot on
Window Restrictors arrived quickly and were exactly what I wanted. I fitted them to uPVC windows and it was a very simple job. The screws supplied were excellent and no additional tools required other than a screwdriver. An easy 5 minute job to fit and very solid and secure. I don't often rates products but this one is a good price and just works and deserves 5 stars

Great Product and easy to fit!
Great product if, like me, you want to leave windows open for ventilation without allowing easy access for unwanted visitors such as that black and white cat which thinks it lives with me. It was very easy to fit, even for a DIY disaster like me, just remember to leave space to fit the plastic covers when you mark the position for fitting.I used two on a particularly vulnerable window for extra security. You can choose the width of the opening by positioning the restrictor closer to, or further away from the hinge.I would advise buying the multi-pack of 5, which works out cheaper per unit, because once you have fitted it on one window you'll want to fit it on others.

Really good product!
This is the sixth restrictor I've bought from penkid and have been really pleased with all of them!My UPVC windows are made by a company called Speedframe and the screws and product fit perfectly to these, they are so easy to fit, I don't even bother with pilot holes, just screwed the self-tappers straight in using a electric drill/screwdriver - takes a couple of minutes to fit! It's a real piece of mind having these on the windows as it can be a real worry with young children, especially in the summer when the windows need to be open.

does the job for low price
ordered this as its is flexible, the first lock I got didn't fit the window style, this was the cheapest I saw, it arrived earlier than stated, was fitted in 10 minutes, uses screws so is secure, quality good, looks good, very pleased, job done)

Not the best
Having installed three Jacklocs some time ago, I thought I'd add restrictors to three other uPVC windows and thought, on reading the reviews, that these were much the same and significantly cheaper.I installed the first today. No way as easy as the Jacklocs. The attachment for the window has a plastic cover that is difficult to separate from the metal part. The cover has two little retaining lugs that must have got distorted in the struggle & now the cover won't click on. Jackloc keep it simple - not two pieces, just one. The screw heads show but so what. No such problem with the other attachment for the lock. It's bigger and the cover comes separately from the metal part. I had quite a struggle with the four screws. In the end, not only did I drill a 3mm hole but also used a 4mm bit to ease out the top of the hole. The self-tapping screws then started much easier. I had to use my full 14 stone to drive the screws in - no job for ladies. As I recall, the Jackloc screws were bigger in diameter and shorter and were easier to drive. The lock is inferior to the Jackloc. The key is more difficult to use - quite a struggle to get it out. Jackloc use a small flat Yale type that is easy to use.
